has anyone bought and installed the upgrade parts themselves? how hard and was it worth it? always have wanted it but now that you can do it yourself!

I have the CDFP fuel pump and it made a difference. The car was able to have power all the way to redline compared to before. The power was smoother as well compared to before. Before my car was on and off for power and after the fuel pump it was always on and has power to redline.

So its an easy mod and works well. Mine was the full fuel pump though not just the parts.

other then price yes. i think its the same kit milgenguy was doing, i cant remember his name if he sees it i hope he chimes in.

The parts that are used are the same. The DIY is great, but people that aren't comfortable with tools shouldn't try to engage the install themselves. Same parts, same flow, etc, though I'm not sure of the warranty that is issued with the DIY kit.

The advantage to buying the tested and built pump, is the guarantee, warranty, and ease of communication with me.

so the CDFP alone provides power all the way to redline? I thought I had seen dynos with people with the CDFP with power still falling off?

It should take less than an hour if you have everything you need and dont tear the o-ring... like me.

I noticed nothing, except the car is smoother at low RPM, the car seems to jerk around less during shifts.

I went to the track afterwards, and noticed nothing for performance. I didnt even come very close to my runs from the previous weekend. Traps and ETs were slower.

How are you tuning for your a/f r with all these big flowwin' mods. Is the AP able to control all that. With the front mount you will be able to run the big turbos on your car. I am sure u are watching your data log closely sir. Best luck 4.

I do not have a datalogger. I have the AP, which tunes the car for my specific mods. I monitor sensor data as I drive and keep an eye on AF quite often. Its not as good as a datalogger, I know, but I do not feel its crucial at this point to log. So far, I have not seen anything dangerous.

Datalogging with the AP will be available some time... eventually... says Cobb.

supposed to be 18psi I believe, but it does not hold it there.

With the FMIC and more boost, I know the car wouldnt have kept up if I left it alone, I figured I would do the work now before I ran into problems.

I,m modded similar to you 4thstroke and the downside of the AP is: no maps for the CDFP or even the ets TMIC...
Cobb staff must wake up!!

cobb is trying to get some people with the ETS to test maps see if it works with fmic or if they need and change a few things here and there. MSF.org
