cd changer

i think it's a dumb question. but wondering if anyone will know.. will a 06 mazda 3 oem cd changer fit in a 08 mazda5?

Good question - I asked a similar question last month about trying to put the aftermarket Mz3 CD/MP3 changer in but didn't get a response. There are 2 different non-Bose versions, one with and one without the trip computer built in. Benfolio bought one of these off eBay to put in his new CX-7, let's see if he succeeded.

cuz i'm in toronto area, there's someone selling the mazda3 cd changer for 150 bucks, which isn't too bad of a price, i was looking at getting the poineer D3, it's a 2-din in dash navi/dvd/cd player, but den again, the price of that thing is like 1000 bucks

The ones on eBay were going for about $50 shipped. I was tempted, but took a pass.

Might end up getting one of those solid-state MP3 players that connects to the satellite radio port and reads SD and USB thumbdrives, they're going for $85 shipped on eBay, a little bit more retail.

I can't see how. They're quite different. Even the harnesses are different, so they wouldn't be plug-and-play. I've had both the MZ3 and MZ5 head units out to do work on them.

yah.. i kinda figure it out too.. i went to look at my friend's mazda3. and the actual head units is different.. the 5 have more of a curve to it while the 3 is flat
