Catback exhaust help

I purchased the catback exhaust for the sedan from bluemp5dave. It comes in today and I called around to see how much it would cost to get it installed and they say roughly 100-150...is it honestly that hard? I thought it was all bolt on? Hmm.....if you guys have any pointers or suggestions please post

if you have a jack and a few wrench's in the garage you can do this. It's as simple as four bolts and four exhaust hangers. Do it yourself if you can. Makes you appreciate your purchase even more. :D

Thanks azeli...but he said I may need to use my stock gasket seals...so i would just take those off and put them on the catback.....im new to this world..but I like to do things myself...so I am gonna give it a try!

That's no big deal. Just make sure they are aligned once you get the new exhast in and you'll be set. If the exhast hangers give you trouble, use a little wd-40 to slide them off. What type of exhaust did you get?

It's a RB catback.
Congrats Black-Knights! Now get out there and slap that sucker on! (drinks)

Yeah I got the racing beat full catback .....ok...the bolts are not a problem..but do I just yank on the exhaust hanger to take the old stock parts off...Not literally yank the exhaust hanger but the part that is in th exhaust hanger...that seems to be giving me trouble...(i hope you guys know what I am talking about) Special thanks to Natey for helping me find the exhaust!

first, you lube it up with some wd40. then you let it sit for a little bit. after about 10 minutes, you work the metal hanger out of the rubber holder. just keep pushing and pulling. separate the exhaust hanger from the rubber and you're all set. good luck. let us know if you are having any more problems getting the exhaust off the rubber hanger.

if it is bolt on cat back, take it to Midas.
It's actaully depends on which Midas you go to but last time when I put my Mazdaspeed axle back on, they only charged me $15, because simply it was bolt on muffler.
they should charge just little more for cat back though:D

I got my RacingBeat installed for $60 CDN. It only took the guy about 20 minutes, but I don't have any tools (well, multi-drive screwdriver & wrench...), so I thought it was a fair price.

Also i'd prefer to spend 20 minutes of my Saturday sitting at a muffler shop, rather than half of it lying under a car fighting with rusted bolts. ;)

Strange thing is, I called Speedy first and they refused to put it in for me, weird...

i know you like to pay people to install s*** for you, but its a waste of money, and takes half the fun away of modding your car. nothing beats saying "yep, did it all myself".

yeah those hangers are tough some lube and a screwdriver helped me...and it is much more fulfilling to do it yourself...good luck

i'm gonna have to agree with dawick and matthew here. tehre's nothing like the satisfaction of jacking the car up, crawling under there, removing everything, and putting new components on. the biggest sense of accomplishment comes when you fire the engine up and it roars to life. this goes for any mod. the do-it-yourself satsifaction can't be beat. k, back to studying.

you dont want some jack off at "Joe's Muffler Shop" (or whatever) to hear your new exhaust before you do, do ya....lol....have fun ;)
