Casual Modding

I think there are a few near-stock cars that have seen improvement in performance especially at the upper RPM range, with the pump alone. The ECU seems to "like" the fact it has fuel pressure to spare.

It doesn't require a fueling tuning solution because the pump has a regulator built in that flows the extra fuel back to the tank, so unless the engine demands the additional fuel, the pump does nothing to the a/f ratios or anything else, for that matter.

So it seems to be a no-compromise mod that a dealer couldn't detect.

Has anyone done a dyno comparison from "basically stock", which I would consider as only an intake, or maybe an intake and a CBE, to the same car with the upgraded pump added? I would like to see some documentation showing exactly what kind of effect this mod has. I might even take 1/4 mile times before and after, but I think more than the vague "seems to improve" statements is in order before investing in such an expensive part. I have no doubt that it is a great idea for people doing serious mods, but on a nearly stock car, I want proof.

I wonder if anyone on this form has actualy had warranty troubles for only mild mods like intake and exhaust?

yeah. where is the line for fuel cut and boost cut and cels and all the other issues drawn when it comes to mods. Intake alone and you are safe or is it intake, exhaust, and bov? What is the max amount of bolt on mods you can have without dealing with the "issues"?
