At least this thread was saved by the unicorn pics. Is anyone else questioning why Roids even bothers at this point? It's almost as if he purposely seeks to start a discussion on topics that no one really gives a s*** about.

off topic what kind of fork is that?

I believe it's a DT Swiss special racing edition of some kind. The whole fork is carbon including the arch attached to the lower sliders.

its all in how it looks man, i've been in and around BMX. mountain bikes and roadbikes pretty much all my life. and theyve been using molded carbonfiber method for forever and a day now, used to be aluminum wrapped in carbon but, do you really think anyones going to buy a carbonfiber hood that looks like s***? just some black hood? no, they want the woven look. carbon looks like s*** to me on a car. and woven fiber IS stronger... other wise they wouldn't be selling it and making it for mountain bikes road bikes and BMX bikes.. and that frame you pictured above never made it to production, they made that frame to show what can be done with carbon fiber. (thank good)

It's all about performance for me. That's why I run enkei rpf1s. I don't give a s*** if the strengthening lip makes my rim look an inch smaller, I want the performance it provides. If they started making cheaper well fitting lighter hoods from straight black carbon with no fancy weave look I would like it more.
That funky frame was just a side note some guys were talking about. I am talking about how more and more now we are seeing high end solid carbon components popping up without the weave look, that stem and fork are just a couple examples I have seen lately. I can show you pics of the new XC rims they are making from solid black carbon. This is going to be a trend now we are going to be moving away from the weave look in all components I believe. I hope this trend keeps moving twords cars.

if having a bad lookin hood is youre thing then, have at it. if you want to get into carbon get the new WEDS all the carbon youre little heart could ever desire even without unicorns.
