carbon fiber hoods

does anyone know if the carbon fiber hood from wings west will fit on a 02 mp5? because i like the look of the "EVO" style hood. i've seen the hood on corksport.com's website. but there's no
way of knowing if it fits. can anyone give me any info on that? thnx

yup, it fits any 3rd gen, and its on national backorder for a few months according to nopi

thanx guys. that really helps. honestly. i don't know how else to say it. i went to a local shop today and i was told it wouldn't fit. but that was by the local authorized dealer in O`ahu. my friend told me that versus motorsports could make a hood but they need a mold. by the way rider69 nice car man! i'm trying to put
pics of my car on the forum. but it's taking me a while.

if they are on back order I think ion performance was thinking of doing one if they could get their hands on an original to make a mold and 10 people in on a GB to make it worth their time.

you can always add a postert scoop with some work, or do a dgm ram air CF hood, or an ion color weave hood, or apc lol, get the idea there are alot of hoods out there and they are not all the same so there is surprisingly a good amount of choices as far as CF hoods go.

and yes, I dont know why the guy at the shop said that but it will fit youe 02p5 as well as it would my 03.5, all 3rd gens.

lol, ww style and actuall ww evo hoods have been mentioned or have been in GB before.

usually if you are getting it from an individual or GB you can get the actuall WW hood for 650 shipped. i think someone is selling theirs new right now in the for sale section.

the hoods themselves are on backorder for a while.

okay, all that replied and you don't have a cf hood and want one, i just got off the phone with the guy from dg motorsports. the
price for a reg. cf hood is $695. but you have to act now to get that price. Don't pass it up!

call RAD motorsports here on oahu (dont have # sorry) or RONS. i think they have VIS CF hoods for $500.00 or at least my friend got it from there (dakinep5) a while ago. - chris

also does anybody know if cf hoods are sensitive to direct sunlight? like if you work somewhere and it has to be parked out in the sun? will it warp or something like that?

If you're worried about it & you're gonna invest that much for a CF hood, you ought to get a car cover to protect it.

yeah so true. unfortunately my girl has to drive it every day since my yota died on me. i was only concerned if anything would happen to prolong exposures to the sunlight since i live in a place where that's all that's ever present. also does anyone have hood clips on their cf hood? should I get them when i get my hood? is it hard or difficult or time consuming to carefully drill the holes? sorry for so much questions, i just want to make sure i'm doing the right things to my baby!
