I have an '07 mazda 3s hb and was wondering if anyone knows a good site to shop for carbon fiber hoods. I'm seeing the name VIS come up a lot, is this a brand to trust? Thank you!
i had the VIS Invader on my focus. expect the latch to need modification or you'll need hood pins. the clear coat yellows quick and produces cracks. if you're in a colder state and plan on driving the car i would store your stocker for summer and put it back on during winter. the overall quality was nice but it still had it's shortcomings.
I was expecting to need hood pins, but was it the temperature that caused the yellowing and cracking? Or is it bound to happen eventually? I live in Las Vegas so my real concern isn't so much cold as it is the heat. It's just starting to get below 40 degrees F now and I don't expect to be seeing any snow. How long was it before it started going 'bad'?
I never had any problems with my Vis Evo hood.. no yellowing or anything. My car was also stored from Nov-March so no real hardcore winter abuse or anything.
