do we still not have any carb legal hardpipes for a FMIC for the MSP? hell, even one for a SMIC would be nice...I just got state refereed and need a proper setup so I dont get towed if I get pulled over again...

That sucks man! How did you get caught?
As far as i know there is nothing out there for us. Only thing with an EO# is Injen intake. Not sure about the AEM.

not even the perrin FMIC setup? lol, for that kinda money you would think it did...

and yea, they pulled me for my tint and front license plate....which was obviously and excuse to get under the hood, cause they got right quick to asking in I had mods =\

how are hardpipes not carb legal? it's just metal tubing replacing plastic tubing..

its california

they give a s*** if you have anything not stock

apparently hardpipes are not legal without a carb sticker =\

How hard would it be to fake a carb sticker. I mean hypothetically of course. Or just buy a injen and peel and stick :)

haha, Ive been very tempted

...actually, does it say anywhere on it if its just a Cold Air Intake? because if I marked all the pipes as 'Injen' (with a carb number of course) then I could get away with it, but only if it doesnt specifically say 'cold air intake' on it....cops may not really know much but they arent that stupid (I would hope haha)

i dont know about Tracy but in Stockton there are some cops that have been trained on what to look for. They know all about carb#'s, whats stock and whats not.

I was pulled over last month in Chula Vista Ca . I to had to go to the state referee but when i took mine all I was told to take off was my Greedy bov. I also have a fmic.

they didnt care about your hardpipes?

In that case I might just get the recirculation fitting for mine and hook that in so the BOV is legal!

and yea boostin...I got pulled in stockton...they called their 'resident expert' out to examine my car lol....lets just say he was an idiot

haha, my favorite bit:
him: whats this line here thats hooking into here? that doesnt look stock (pointing at the gas line I used as an EGR when I put on the 626 manifold)
me: uhm...isnt that the EGR sir? thats how it came when I bought the car...(I know it doesnt look stock, cause its not..but I played it like it like it came like that)
him: uh....nooooo, thats not your EGR because thats hooking into the Turbo directly...(leans over the hood more and points to the O2 SENSOR) thats your EGR right there!

WTF????!!!?? lol
this is their expert haha

at least the 626 intake mani looks stock...cause that would be a PITA if I have to put the old one back on....other than that I dont see anything that would be illegal under the hood besides the hardpipes and BOV (shrug)

No but the thing he did check was if I had the cats in place and that ended up being my problem the cats. I failed it two times the third time it passed only because I hade the cats rebuilt and that cost me $1,000. It was a b****.

well Im running stock cats so I shouldnt have a problem then...thanks for the info man

Ill try it the first time with the hardpipes, if it fails then Ill go back to stock

No problem but it also depends on what kind of a guy smogs your car the guy I whent to in chula vista was cool he said he didnt care about the intercooler. He told me to take the bov off and my afr gauge and I would be allright.
