Car Vandalized

Spicy MSP #1516
Well, last night my car got keyed out in front of my friends house on the street. The hood, both driver-side doors, and front quarterpanels and back got scratched to bare metal. There was two lines down the side, two on the hood, and little separate ones all over the same side.

I called up Geico to make a claim and then went to one of there placed to get it inspected and an estimate. $2,200! They are allowing me to take it to any body shop I want, and if it ends up costing more they will cover it; I just have to pay the $500 deductabile.

They have to repaint the entirity of the pieces keyed than said they would have to blend it into the rest of the car... wtf.. I have a feeling it will look like s***. I haven't taken it in yet to get fixed, because I want to find a damn good body shop as all its going to cost me is $500.. Maybe I will just fork out the extra cash and get the whole car painted a different color.. white msp anyone?

Anyway, Im wondering if anyone knows and good body shops in Sacramento, CA? or any thoughts on the estimate?

PS: I have a feeling people might say I pissed someone off or something, but I haven't. Neither has my friend, there is absolutely no one we can think of that would do that. Im thinking it was just having an orange car parked on the steet, as the driver side that was scratched.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I don't understand what would posess someone to key another person's car. Such ignorance and immaturity. If you're going to get her repainted, I'd stay with spicy-- they really are getting rarer and rarer (unfortunately).

Forgot to add, spicy would be much cheaper anyway-- They wouldn't have to repaint the engine bay and the doorsills.

Check that out, and another thread about the Spicy Orange paint pack... although you won't likely located that factory paint pack. I never could.

First, find a shop that uses a 3-stage paint process for the 25T paint code. The only system I found was a Sikkens Auto Base Plus. Don't have it painted in a 2-stage, as the factory is a 3-stage and it won't likely turn out right.

The short version is mine was painted using the Sikkens system. The new paint was a hair lighter in indirect light, but a dead match in sunlight. Tons of mica in it. Both driver doors were fully painted and the new paint was feathered or blended into the front and rear quarters. The blend job was second to none. I can still tell just a bit, but nobody else has ever noticed the paintwork. The total cost was just over $700. For $2,200, ship it here and I'll have the same shop fix it and I'll pocket the difference! That quote was ridiculous if it's just 2 doors and a blend.

that sucks man...i don't understand people sometimes...

i know how you feel, someone hit my trunk with a cro bar and now i have to get the dent taken out and repainted but i am afraid of it not matching which really ******* sucks. i hate jealous people

I have decided to spend the extra cash on a whole new paint job, that includes engine bay and door jams. Any ideas on color? (alright)

im actually debating between white, black, & red lol... I know there is already black msp's, but im normally a black car person. Any way im probably going to debadge and de-spoiler and get the holes filled as well. Any ideas or votes would be awesome!

dam! a red msp with carbon fiber trunk lid or just wingless would look soooo ******* bad man.

my vote is for a white, something with pearl or mica in it though. Just to make it glisten oh so nicely...

although I semi-agree with those here. Spicy is a rare color now adays, its likely to be the most rare color ATM.

I've always wanted to see a white MSP...if it's ultra bright white that would be the best looking IMO. Championship white :)

WTF?.....did this happen in SacTown? Whereabouts...I'll be sure not to take my MSP there...! I got my car painted in Sacramento......
