Car Starts and Everything Perfect BUT WONT MOVE!!

I have a 1999 Mazda Protege SE, yesterday i went driving and it was super cold like -40 and i was driving through huge snow drifts. before i got to my house the car seemed to be accelerating on its own and when in neutral REV super high. that ended up stopping but after i got home i went to go start my car 20 mins later to leave and my car will not move! The car start goes into gear engine sounds fine not to sure what it wrong!! if anyone could give me any information that would be greatly appreciated

If its an automatic it sounds like you may have disconnected a transmission line, and now you have no atf in your tranny

no need to make multiple threads, you only need one to get the answers. My guess is if you pop the hood the bay is full of snow and things are frozen and moving a bit slower. Having lived in Winterpeg before i know it used to happen to use in the winter that is why we plugged the cars in our left them in the garage.

everything seemed to be moving fine and i could feel some force like the engine wanted to move forward not to sure whats holding it back and it is a standard transmission
