Car Smoking Similar?

Not the same thread as before but the ones that had their car smoking did it smoke all that time? I just realized I was just chilling idle at a light when the car started smoking I rev'd it a few times and it blew out a bunch. I got to where I was going and checked again and it did not smoke anymore. It has done that twice.

Same issue?

I only have 8k miles on the car.

Tht's the same as most of us get..

It'll smoke ALOT for a minute or two and then just stop....

It's just a litle oil seeping past the turbo seals. It seems like all the cars do it, but you cant tell until you remove the stock cats...I doubt mazda will replace your turbo unless it smokes with the stock cats in place...

But, if you put your stock DP back on you probably wont see the smoke anymore(it'll burn off in the cats) and your dealer wont have anything to fix...

AFAIK this is NOT a normal issue on all MS6s.

its an issue with the exhaust seal on the turbo allowing some oil to pass through. the reason you only see it during idle is because under acceleration it blows through too quick. under idle the oil pools enough past the seal to allow a burn-off and subsequently smoke.

You could take it in or leave it be. Its really up to you. I dont think there is any known harm caused by this (and no performance loss) but it may ruin the cats over time (because of the oil).

Ive seen one MS6 with the same problem as you are describing and it was infact the turbo exhaust seal. They replaced the turbo assembly in that vehicle.

EDIT: and to add - atleast in the vehicle I saw this issue on - it did NOT stop after a minute or two and would continue to smoke @ idle until some acceleration blew it out.

Hmm so live with it or put on the stock down pipe pretty much are my 2 options I guess. Guess I will leave on the CPE one for now.

i had the same problem 'i am michael form street unit i saw it 3 days ago and the cars is back to normal. i left it at idle for 30 min. LOL

Just curious if anyone has taken this in for repair. I think I am about to but want to know how long I should expect them to have the car for.

Rican, FYI this is unlikely due to the CP-E DP and the original cats will not burn it off. They only bolt on I have on the car is the magnaflow catback exhaust and my car does the same thing. The first time I took it in the blamed it on a coolant leak up front, but I couldnt figure out how to make it smoke back then, now that it does it almost constantly while idlen they cant pin it on that.

I have the problem and it will not go away. Mine smokes and is all stock. I've taken it to the dealer once and they try to BS me with the bad gas story. So I did what they said and put new gas in the car along with a new oil change and it's still there. I called the dealer and will bring the car in again (2nd time). I also contacted a good lemon law attorney who is waiting for the green light. Bottom line: If refuse to pay 29 grand for a smoking vehicle period.

I haven't noticed the smoking on my car..... i think i'm gonna let it sit in the driveway and idle while I sit there with a beer and my PSP handheld and play some texas hold'em and after 20 minutes gonna look up and see if the exhaust is smoking.....

The only time I recall any smoke from my exhaust was when i pulled out of a right turn and started driving and some joker from the left lane merged to the right and i saw him coming up behind my car and i didn't want to get rear ended so i floored and saw a gusset of smoke fly out the back of my car....

So I too would like to get this looked at.....and I only put premium gasoline in the car and I'll know better about the smoking if they try to BS me about "bad gas"(jerkit)
