car comparo: GTI, RSX Type-S, Mazdaspeed

i hear ya..i test drove a wrx...was not impressed..at all....my gsx was faster..but tthen again it was bone stock..engine wasnt broken in....the shifter was crap..i test drove an rsx-s...silky smooth shifting....but in the performance aspects..nothin an intake catback and mbc couldnt fix..

ughhhhh the shifter on the WRX, don't get me started....that thing is even worse than the shifters on the 2002 spec Vs...so crappy...

but damn honda still makes the best shifters :)

ill throw my 2 cents here.
wrx: great car . owned one but had manny trans problems in the 6 months i had it. unfortunatly it is very heavy and i didnt like the handeling. just my opinion. great car but it just doesnt fit my style. i dont know what it is. i didnt like driving it much and the interoir was just blah.
gti :one of the best cars i ever drove. handles good for stock and is very fun to drive. as a matter of fact i like the styling and that is what made me buy my pro5 because they just did a better job on it.
rsx : ditto great car all the way around . just a little too small for me. felt a little scrunched. but very fun
Msp: again nothing different than my p5 except the turbo and some suspension. the LSD makes a huge difference .if it wasnt there i wouldnt consider it. but for the money, looks and performance IMO it cant be beat.
now my suggestion for another vehicle would be a little far ahead but..........
the new generation mazdas will have a HUGE impact on the sport compact world next year. the mazda engine design and suspension in the M6 will be implemented in about all the cars developed next year.
if you cant wait that long then good luck with whatever you get.

btw AWD is hard not to get used too. i have a project eclipse that i still am working on and will implement the AWD in my 99 spider. its just collecting dust right now but will be breathing in the summer
IMO one of the best cars ever made in regards to styling and performance.:D

lol.. i know.. i was like.. "wtf is this?" hahahahah... lol.....
you should try the 6speed in the gti.. quite nice too.. it's spring loaded so it goes nicely into neutral or in gear.. but no notchiness whatsoever..

perfworks:
hehe, yeah, i agree the styling isn't quite "up there" on the golf's.. but the 337/20thae are a bit improved.. and is subtle with it's styling.. i dont' mind it. hehe..
