Car Audio POSSESSED

i need some help. my wife's cx-9 audio system seems to be all screwed up. it makes a terrible cracking noise through the speakers that amounts to the audio system being turned up to full blast. as you can see from the video's it does it while the car radio is off, on, on bluetooth, on FM, on SiriusXM, etc. It is worse while you are stopped and it does sometimes get better (only temporarily) while you are moving. the second video is while driving - the same noise. It's getting worse and it's unbearable. Our dealer couldnt diagnose it without it making the sound, so we made these videos tonight.

I personally think something in screwed up in the navigation/display unit causing some wires to cross, but I really have no idea. All i know is the car is not drivable with a two year old in the back with it making these noises. ANY help is appreciated.

we love the car, it has been nothing but great.

Debug it by uninstalling whatever you installed one by one.
I agree with helbigtw, it is very likely loose ground wire or short.
Sounds like you have the SirrusXM, which would be my guess. Uninstall it and see what happens.

"Factory"? No. These accessories were installed at the port of entry (likely LA in west coast).
Accessories are not installed at factory to steamline operations in factories. Things that fall in
the "accessory" category are installed at the port. These people do many vehicles in a day.
They make mistakes (such as loose ground wires, etc.) like any human beings would.

Option packages are from factory, however.

You, of course, can take it in to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty.

it's at the dealer as we speak....having the video helps.

I did not know they wouldnt install sirius, etc at the factory. it's all part of the same integrated navigation system/display. It all came as an option package with bose, etc

Where is CTRL ALT DELETE?

Mine doe snot have weird noised, bur, some times, is like frozzen. You clock on the buttons, or on the Screen, and nothing happens for about 30 seconds or so.

If that happen when I am on GPS, I stop. Shut down the Unit. Shut down the car, start the car and then the unit and usually fixes. Some times required doing that process twice or three times. very anoying. Since it happens every month or so, I have not recorded or shown to the dealer. I probably should.
