Hi All,

I am a proud new owner of a CX5 and loving both the car and this forum. I have a question about the display auto mode. I see three modes for the display- day, night and auto. I have it in auto which is supposed to dim the screen according to the headlights being on or off. However, my auto seems to do nothing. It always remains the same brightness during the day and night. I vaguely remember it dimming when i was on the dealers lot and inspecting the car. I think the screen dimmed when i turned the headlights on but i cant be sure. Has anyone had a similar problem or even noticed this.

I did try to reset the screen settings to factory and tried again, but it seems to do nothing. I think the problem started when i changed the brightness and contrast settings away from default after a few hours of driving it around. I hope someone can help me with this. I would really like to have this feature work properly because the screen overpowers me at night and i have to keep manually changing it to night mode. I really dont want to take it to the dealer.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried turning back the screen brightness just a tad. My memory of elsewhere-reading (as I haven't yet taken delivery of my own) is that the auto mode is defeated if screen brightness is on maximum.

The small knob used for resetting the tripometers on the guage pod is also a guage brightness setting if you turn it. If it is maxed out the infotainment screen will not go into night mode. If its just one step back from full it will go into night mode.
