Can't we leave MS3 vs. X comparisons in this section?

As an MS3 owner, I like to see what other MS3 owners and people specifically interested in the MS3 think about the competition. People in the general forum are much less likely to give a rat's ass.

Can we bring my thread back? If it dies here, then I'll know the people who are the most likely to be interested (as opposed to Automotive News readers for whom the MS3 is not a primary concern) are not.

i think comparisons can be ok, but they tend to get away from actual comparisons in this section because people are very defensive of their car (obviously, cuz its the best! haha). We move them so that we can get a less biased comparisons when everyone from the forum contributes. Im interested to see the results of the poll though.

Agreed....this is a Mazda site, so of course people will think the Mazda is superior. It's like going on a Ford site and asking if Chevys are better.

We're here to talk about Mazdas, not SRT-4s, STIs, or friggin' Chryslers. I see way too much OT crap like that around here and it really detracts from the rest of the content.

Of course. I guess mine looked like it was more about the Sportback, but that's only because most of us already know pretty much everything about the MS3. But I mean it as a comparison thread to answer the questions about which car will have the performance edge: the lighter, more powerful FWD MS3 vs. the substantially heavier AWD Sportback, given that it has the tried and true, rally-proven system off the Evo IX. Then there is the secondary question of what happens when the cars are modded. If power-to-weight ratios can be roughly equalized, can that ever make up for the weight penalty on the Sportback's handling? What if both cars are modded to bring power levels up to Stage Two levels, which car would make the best use of that much added power?

well the poll seems to be resounding against my opinion lol... I'll let the other mods weigh in on this too but I guess im OK with if there is a "ms3 vs. X" thread in the lounge, we can leave it there. As long as it truly stays a comparison thread, not "lets bash the other car cuz ms3 is best!!" thread.

I like the idea, but as everyone else said it would have to stay away from the bash the other car. It would especially be nice for those of us that dont have an MS3 yet, getting to know about the cars that are out that may or may not stack up against it.
