Cant play Divx movies

ok i got a divx movie in avi format, downloaded 5.1.1 or whatever and still says unsupported?

you probably are still missing one of the required codecs.

Do you have any dvd software player program installed? if its a rip
off a dvd then you generally need the codec from the player to play
the avi file. also look at the divx website for additional plugins/decoders.

Download GSpot Codec. Then open the movie in that program and it will tell you what you need to play it.

unistall the divx codec you got and download videoLAN player. It can play almost all formats and is free.

Just d/l the divx codec?
The free divx codec is right next to the purchase button. It took me a while to find it.

sometimes the index for the avi file gets corrupted. if that's the
problem then this can make a new index over it. you loose some
general info but should let you play it.

It might have not downloaded correctly, compare the file sizes do determine. or just re download it

You can try using the Xvid Codec. Downlaod that. Download latest divx codec. Update Windows Media Player. Clear cookies and temporary internet files. If none of that works..try using different apps to play it..like divx player and winamp 5.0
