Can't get comfortable

Anyone else have trouble getting comfortable while driving their MS3?

My right knee no matter how far back or far forward I move the seat, nor up or down, steering wheel in or out.. is resting on the center dash/console whatever. Where it comes down around the radio/climate control.. right there in that "corner".. my knee sits. Its VERY annoying.

I've lived with it for the past 2 months or so of owning the MS3 but, its actually starting to make my leg and foot cramp.

I didn't have this problem in my 350z nor my STi. It just seems thats there isn't enough knee room or maybe i'm a certain heighth or whatever. I'm about 155lbs and 5'10".

I HATE driving all laid back ghetto style so I refuse to sit like that. I'd rather be close to the wheel and somewhat laid back as I like to keep my hands at 9 and 3 rather than ride around with one hand at 12.

So, anyone else have probs getting comfortable?

When I got a loaner 3 from the dealer a while back I thought the same thing...only had the car for a day and a half or so, but was already annoyed by the time I had to give it back - probably would deter me from buying a MS3, but that's just me...just know what you're talking about for sure...just keep that right foot planted and remain distracted...lol

I think I remember a company making some leather or soft rubber pads that went on the side of the center console that either stuck on with 3M tape or bolted on somehow. I might have to look for these.

I have the same prob in my MP3 but it just makes my heel sit a certain way and it makes it go numb. But when I sat in the 3 at the dealer ship I did notice that center console part does stick out a bit more than In my MP3 and it pissed me off within the 5 min of sitting in it.

dont have that problem in my p5, but i do feel it in my parent's 6i, i know exactly what you mean, those new concoles seem to be to bulge out too much, i guess they picked design over comfortablity when it came to the center console

i dunno man, i wouldnt want to stick something that will look out of place on a brand new car. i guess if it looks okay i'd go for it. you'd think they'd test stuff like this, i guess the japs are just short. god bless em

Just buy some Maxi pads "heavy days" with wings that stick and slap them to your knee or on the area of the dash your talking about..should help!?

nice. that will come in handy too if your mother in law needs a ride from you. now you have something that's invaluable that she can choke on to death

I am 6'2" and have driven the MS3 on several extended trips including a 7 hr drive when I first picked it up. I used to sit with my seat all the way back, but after having done autocross this past summer in my MSP I now prefer to have my seat close to the steering wheel.

While my right leg rests against the console while driving I find that my leg is in a more upright position when I sit closer so that it rests less against the console.

I guess that I am used to this position now as I don't find it uncomfortable. It is also possible that since my leg is likely longer than yours it rests agains the console at a different level which is more comfortable than where it rests for you.

Don't know about you but I love our MS3.

Took me a while to get comfy also. But I'm only 5'6" and am coming from driving a mustang for 6 years. If you've never driven a stang, then you should know the clutch is really close to you while the accel. pedal is really far, so you kinda end up sitting sideways. Add the off center steering wheel/column and you wonder why anyone would ever love their mustang. And I'm asian so the MS3 fits me perfectly!

Maybe you need a booster seat.
