Ok, so I purposely chose Finland because it's known to be just about the most expensive, but even in reasonably priced places like Austria, MSRP is 25,590euro = 38,910.74cad, and the sedan would be 500euro more (in Europe the sedan is more than the hatch). I stand by my prices of roughly $40,000cdn for NAV models in Europe.
I know that's what it converts to but that's not what Mazda could/would sell it for. The U.S. gets the Nav system and by your logic they should be paying the equivalent of $25,590 Euros which works out to $29,769 U.S.!
What something (anything, not just cars) sells for in Europe is not indicative of what it will sell for in North America. It doesn't cost Mazda any more to build the European 3, it's just that they can price it at what the market will bear and means that they make more profit on the cars sold in Europe than the ones sold in North America. My point is that you CAN'T say because it sells for the equivalent of X number of dollars in Europe that's what it will have to sell for here, so they just can't/won't sell it here.
