hey all,

here's the context of the issue... when the temperature drastically changes, for ex when the season changes winter to fall, spring to summer, etc, my speed3 occassionally has what I think is a major airflow issue.

If I put the pedal to the ground, the car will start accelerating and then all of a sudden will seem like I slammed the brakes, and I need to let off the gas or change gears. happens around 4k RPM. it only happens occassionally, and seems to be when there is a significant change in the outside temperature. it's pretty nerve-wracking though, because I usually only stomp on the gas if I need to. for the power to all of a sudden be blocked and the car to stop accelerating is not cool.

any ideas what's going on under the hood?

here are my mods: injen CAI, SU boost tubes, forge bpv, short shifter kit, trz poly rear mount.

thanks for any help!

also, I've never had my car tuned although it probably should be...

Boost cut?

Especially in the winter

in addition, your mods dont really require a custom tune since the only power adder you have is the intake. Not to say a tune or reflash wouldnt do you good, but at this point with your aftermarket choices youre fine with the stock stuff

thanks. so basically it is what it is (boost cut), and there's no easy way around it?

I also just noticed that my boost gauge has been at -30 psi all day long... crap! i'm wondering if it's just the heat though, record highs in boston today...
