can you easily fit 2 bikes in the back of 5 door?

Maybe, if the are 16 in frames. LOL. To be serious, I got one 20 inch framed bike in w/o taking the tires off. It was my kids mongoose BMX bike. As far as your situation, if the bikes are that important to you you should consider a P/U truck cause there is no way in hell you will get two adult mountian bikes in the back of a 5DR. You can however get a roof-rack. (yes)

hey guys, I'm a big guy, 6'6", got a 21" frame Schwinn Moab 2, by taking off the front wheel I have no problem at all getting my bike in, and when I put my girls' bike in (without removing the wheel, hers is an ANCIENT beater) I could still have room for other s****... if you really need space, you should be able to take off the front and rear wheel, drop the seat post down, put the frames upside down along the side of the car so you don't get grease on the trunk floor, and then secure them upright using bungees. toss the tires in and you're good to go.

I can fit two bodies and an upper torso in the trunk.

I don't know about two bikes though.
