Can we keep Mazdaspeed related videos here? (reasoning within)

Did you ever stop and think.... So many people aren't accustomed to posting this way... maybe because this forum has adopted a pointless posting shceme no one is familiar with.... for the reason most other forums have a more sensible system that WORKS WITHOUT QUESTIONING. :)

Actualy per savy's example we are seup up exactly how people should be used to posting. Not to mention per every sie I have ever seen aswell. The problem is you think the MSP is a different enough car to warrent a different section. The simply reality is it is not.

Hey I'll ill attempt you!

Point is we have 90,500 posts in one section, if you can't see how that needs to be organized better, I can't explain it to you.

Dude you STILL don't get it. EVERY one of the cars should be organized. This has nothing to do with differences in cars or what we think or don't think about the models.

but like it was said before we could problably eliminate about 50000 or more of those posts by getting rid of the CLunk/Flash/I hate my MSP/Wrong forum posts.

NO evert model should, the MSp is a protege so the proteges should have subsections. they do.

If every sub model had a seperate set of sections this forum would be TOTALY USELESS. INformation would be impossible to find. Ther would be well over 80- subsections, thats friggen redicoulus.
The 3 should have subsection, the 6 should, Hell even the 1st and 2nd gen proteges should as they are very different. That is how all other sites are setup.

However these subsections should be technical and NEVER should there be nor is there a need to have seperate video sections. The only reason you want it is so you never have to see a P5 or an MP3 video. What they hell does it really matter if its an MP3 or MSp or P5? It doesn't they are so friggen similar there is only a designation of difference in a small percent of the peoples minds that use this site.

The simple truth is you don't want to be bothered by any other type of protege. You have no interest in them even though they mimic the MSP all but identicly. Hence you need to start your own MSp specific site becuase we are about proteges here and even more braodly about being Mazda fans.

This goes beyond videos. It's about mods moving MSP tech questions to the Performance or even Appearance section! Then you also have the F/I section.... another great way to mix info between P5/MP3 turbo setups and a stock Mazdaspeed setup.

But maybe there ARE times when I don't want to see mp3 videos. The way it is now you are FORCED to go through all the rest of the stuff. So yes SOMETIMES I just want MSP videos....thats all. This does not mean I hate other proteges, or think I'm special or something, and that I deserve a special section.

I'll say this also. If I had a P5, I would not want to go through say the vid's section looking for only P5 videos. Now does that mean I hate the rest of the Proteges...NOOOO!!!

As an MSP owner SOMETIMES I'd like to go to a seperate section to view all MSP stuff only......just as if I owned a Miata, P5, or 1st gen protege.

Again the rule as decided is leave those threads that apply to only the MSP. Regardless of subject.

What exactly is wrong with "mxing" info. The MSP has a turbo and the same parts as all the other proteges. You can learn about one by learning about the others.

Yes I agree...I just keep using videos as an example. It goes to all the subjects.

You can learn about one by learning about the others.

but as I said sometimes I don't want to do this, it's ass backwards. I'd like to learn about one by LEARNING IT! Dude I can't believe you even said that.

I'm seriously going to the Mitsu dealer tomorrow. I sick of this. I'm looking to get a new car because this forum is so disorganized....

:D ....... j/k but I am going to Mitsu tomorrow.

I've got high speed at work and at home. I love checking out videos of all kinds of cars. Usually every so often I'll go into the photos/videos section and go into a bunch of different topics that sound interesting and go on a downloading tear. Most other sites(notably the other major Protege site too btw) do not have subsections for every model to have it's own Photos and Videos.

I'd say the reasoning as well is that the majority of people on this site want to see an assortment of things when it comes to videos/photos. I don't just want to go to the Mazda3 video section, then the MSP then the MP3 etc....chances are I want to see videos of people drifting all types of cars, or doing quarter mile races etc. If I do get the urge to just look at one of them for some reason, then it's super easy to hit search, click on the Photos/Videos forum and type in "Mazdaspeed" or "drifting" or any other thing my heart desires and up will pop all the videos I'm looking for.

By this other proposed method, it might make it easier to find videos of specifically Mazdaspeed videos, but then it makes it very difficult to do searches for anything else that isn't specifically car related.

We already have around 30 or so forums and I think the breakdown is pretty good and this is more of an exercise in learning how to use the search feature if you are looking for something very specific.

I disagree because if you wanted to see lots of different types at once you could do a search just as you propose others do.

yeah, but the majority of people seem to think that something that is being done the correct way... that poll takes into account about 70~80 people which represents about 1% of the community. if the problems were really that bad, why isn't there already a MSP forum site? I think MSPforum.net is available to start a fine site...

edit: I would hope that everyone can get along on this site, because I believe it is set-up in such a way as to encourage members (no matter which car they own) to get involved and to help each other. the addition of the MSP was a major boost to the Protege platform and its aftermarket scene (IMO). we should be, and are, using our collective purchasing power to demand quality, dependable aftermarket products. things, IMO, are going quite well :D

I believe you are incorrect actually. I would have to do multiple searches for "street race" for instance for each sub-section. IE I'd have to do a search for "street race" videos in the MSP video section, one in the MP3 section, one in the 3rd Gen etc. The search function allows you to specify 1 specific forum, or all forums. Obviously searching all the forums would result in way too many "hits", but I also don't want to search 5 or 6 or more different video sections just to find a bunch of street races if that's what I'm looking for.

The way it is now, I go to the video forum and there are all the street races regardless of the car type. From those results, if I'm still just interested in Mazdaspeed ones, I can still refine my search further but still search within the all in one video forum.

I do really think that a lot of people that look in the video/photo section don't just want to look for their model specifically. Heck there's a lot of videos that aren't even Mazda related at all and I still like seeing those too. For the particular issue of there being a need for multiple video/photo forums(one for each type of car etc) I think that would create a lot more headaches for the majority while only pleasing a small minority of people who only care to look at photos/videos of their own particular model.

Whatever - You win, you are right. I am wrong. I'm sick of explaining logic. We will all just continue to muddle through 90,500 posts and I will miss all the MAZDASPEED info posted in the wrong areas.

You asked for a valid debate and I think I've shown pretty clearly from my own viewpoint that having separate video/photo sections doesn't make sense.

You say you are pointing out logic, but I'd say I illustrated pretty clearly that in terms of the work people would have to do, having a bunch of separate video/photo forums would create a lot more problems than it would solve.

This is supposed to be a discussion specifically with why we don't have separate video/photo forums for each type of car. Yes it might make it more convenient for you personally, but it would make it far more invconvenient for the majority. Sorry but just because a suggestion is made, doesn't mean that it's necesarily the correct thing to do.

So I have a Pro5, but I have MSP/MP3 shocks on it. I have the MP3 radio pocket and MP3 ECU. My wheels, shifter, brake lines, plug wires, will fit any 3rd gen. Damn...if I want answers to questions about things on my car I would have to make about 5 post for each question in a "more organized" forum.
