Can this be done safely? (a little dreaming)

can you elaborate on the bs comment?
THink about how amny times you have seen some one boost a product in a sig and then amonth later they rip the maker a new one. Or how about the dyno numbers some people report to then we all find out that there car was running race gas that day and they upped the boost 4 PSI. Or even worse that they were knocking all along and the car blew the motor a week later.
It seems there is always more to the story when you check on it.

what do you mean by 60k+? do you mean the whole goddamned car would be worthless, or you would need to say, invest 2k in repairs for another 60k miles of use, lol?
Maybe by then someone will log $60K with no major issue on a hiboost kit. Again no one knows what will happen or how frequently.

its not the motor your have to worry about.. its the bad tranny these cars come with..

rishie is running a hiboost kit.. and from what i have heard he has had no problems.. but juan also helped him tune it.. maybe pm him and see what he thinks.

terry brings up a great point here..to be honest it all depends on how to drive..people blow engines in stock cars if they try...with the right parts invested and a PROPERLY TUNED(this means by a professional, and at least one trip to the dno) EMS, you will have a very fast car that is dependable..dont listen to the haters..

Do it right or you will suffer the consequences. Period.

Noone on this forum is yet to put forth the money, time, or effort to do it right.
The only person close is Terry, becuae although he hasn't upgraded his transmission, he is aware of the weakness in his system and he caters to that by being easy on it.

Only time will tell.... Not enough boosted miles logged on to any hihg hp protege at the moment..

even with forged internals?

if thats the case maybe i should just return my car to stock and buy an evo or some s***.
it would be less of a pain in the ass if you did it that way and probably cheaper. Plus you have a warranty.

My tranny has had zero issues And its been at 250+ for some time.....however I baby shift and dont peel out
Dont get me wrong you've done it right. But what fun is it to have 250whp and not be able to peel out occasionaly and be rough with the car? I dont know about anyone else, but I dont have that kind of self control.

Damn I was also thinking of getting a going FI in the future? But all this talk his scaring the s*** out of me (nervous) if I were to get a turbokit, which turbokit would be the safest to run on an auto P5?, I emailed juan and he said that you can safely run 8psi on the hiboostkit but no higher than that w/o a fortfied tranny. I was thinking would it be easier and cheaper just to get a turbo off an msp and hooked it up to my P5? and how much psi do stock msp run? and since a turbo wears down the engine life does this mean that the msp will give out like in around 50k?

damn everyone has made good points. i really dont peel out or anything, or even drive rough as it is. hell, i dont even race often. but i would like to be able to hold my own on a track if challenged, or destroy a mustang GT or two occasionally wiithout worrying.

it wouldn't be cheaper i don't think, unless someone is going to sell you everything off of their msp, because you can't by them piece by piece from mazda.

The mileage really boils down to tuning and driving. There are other variables in their, but those are the main two. A stock MSP should conceivably hold up just as long as a normal protege. They didnt exactly make it a monster. If you tune it right, i'd figure the tranny would go before the engine so just cryo treat the gears and then shot peen them..

shouldn't be too expensive for shot peening, any machine shop should be able to do it for less than 100. That may even be on the high side. I know someone has shot-peened their gears here on the board. Maybe he can say. The cryo treatment i don't know exactly, you'd have to find a place that will do it though. Shouldnt be too big of a kick in the nuts..

of course there is the labor for removing and re-installing the tranny too right? thats prolly what would kill ya i would imagine.

thats when you drop your tranny in your garage and send em off to be cryo'ed while you install your new clutch =)

So basically you can not speed shift with a turbo and pushing 200+whp. Let me get this right. Granny shift all the gears and get back on the throttle easy don't just push the pedal to the floor once u hit another gear correct?

No way I pay sub $600/month for my STI. $30K will be about $560-$550 if you get a low rate. I got 4.5% for 60 months on a $32K loan.

How much money did u put down to get the payments down to that? Also how much is your insurance? How much would the payments be if someone was to put down say 4-6K...somewhere in the $350 a month maybe?
