hey whats up im kinda new to mazda haha but here it goes....

i want to get the most horsepower out of my mp3 i got the cash to do it i was wondering if i should buy a supercharger or a turbo..i dont know which one will give more horspower and which one would be cheaper and better to upgrade..can anyone help?

there are no superchargers...go turbo...and if i were you, i'd go ahead and invest in rods and pistons as well. check out www.protegegarage.com for any upgrades you may ever want!

It depends on how much power you're wanting. Any thing over say 250whp you should build the bottom end (forged rods and pistons). These are very weak and break fast. I have yet to see one person run over that daily and not end up blowing the motor anyways. So I'd run 250 or less whp and leave it be. Don't redline it and don't doost in 5th gear. Some say you'll blow it, but I don't know for sure. Any kit will do as long as you do it right the fist time. Oh, and you'll need about 5k to do it.

if youre really looking for serious power, be ready to spend alot of money. transmission are ok, but not great. if you look to break the 300 mark, may want to think about the gtx gear set, or custom gears. also, you will need to get a new clutch that will handle the power.

of course, new exahust set up, mid pipe, and cat back, but if you go the turbo route, turbo back.

im personally looking to break the 400 mark with my car, and totalling up just all the parts ill need to do it, im looking at pretty close to 8-10K for it. built motor from speedcircuit, hiboost's big boost kit, plus all the aforementioned parts. good luck with the build if you go the turbo route.

I mean s*** us guys with turbos spend like 800 bucks on intercoolers that gain less than 20 hp and 1000+ on engine management systems that dont even give you 25!

Take whatever money you have and put a downpayment on a faster car if you need the hp that bad...
