Can I turn off street names display on infotainment screen? (2017 w/ Nav)

Title says it all.

I'd like to turn off the cross street names that show up in the red rectangular box at the top of the screen (appears when outside of navigation/map screen). I don't need this info. when I'm driving the kids to school, driving to work, etc. I know exactly where I'm going for most of the driving I do, and I find the constantly updating street names unnecessary and distracting. Ideally, these would only display when I actually have a destination entered into the nav system.

Didn't see any option to do this in the menus or manual.

Without some sort of hack, you can't.

Been this way across all Mazda's with MZD & satellite navigation since inception.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

BTW - I don't mind it displaying the street name at all.

I don't as a general rule but inevitably if I want to see if I've got a phone signal it's telling me I'm passing "I don't give a sh*t street". ;-)

Ok, looks like we can't turn it off. I guess I'll just live with it on. #firstworldproblems, I suppose ...
