Can-bus on 04 model?

Hey guys, I'm ordering a retrofit hid system and the company has two options for the relay harnesses.... the standard relay, or the can-bus relay. I've done searches online and read tons of different stuff, so does anyone know for sure if my 04 mazda 3s hatch has a can-bus system that would require a can-bus relay harness? Thanks for any info!

What CAN bus harness are you referring to? The thing to remember is that CAN bus is designed to transfer information such as vehicle speed and RPM, etc. Why you would need a relay to tap into the CAN bus for headlights is beyond me. The HID's I have on my MZ3 did not require a relay. It came with the ballast that was direct plug and play. I also have a newer truck that I put LED headlights on and that required a relay. However the relay was also plug_and_play. If you are ordering from a company that requires you to start tapping into things, I would stay away. That is asking for something to go wrong. Canbus is a bulb out warning system, not CAN diagnostic system. No Mazda 3 uses Canbus so the regular relay harness is what you want. I can't ever stress enough to people to use a relay harness. But since people see that things "work just fine" without one they don't care and spread misinformation.
