has anyone swaped out the intake or exaust camshafts. or has anyone put in high compression pistons yet??? www.shaneracing.com/protege.htm
the only mod i've made so far is a reactive cai and i don't think it did much more than make the car louder during accelleration. plus i didn't put it low enough and messed up the insulation under the hood. also does anyone know, if i got my mazda dealer to do these mods if the warranty would still be good.

Just to let you know, that intake just voided your warranty according to Byers Mazda in Dublin, Ohio. So.........

i bought the intake at my dealership and they said it was fine because it uses all the same emmissions equipment.

Tell that dealership to look at the Magnum-Moss Warrant Act that they have to have on file and if they try to void your warrant for anything other than the product actually causing a specific problem then you will take them to court and sue them. That should fix their attitude rather quickly, since voiding your warrant for added performance parts is illegal. They can only void the portion that is affected by the product and only if it actually caused a provable problem.

you should check out some of the other threads cause i already we've already covered it there but......
I ordered both the cams and pistons and i am waiting for them to be sent. Your dealership can do it for you but it voids your warranty 100% i know cause they warned me about 10 times within 5 minutes. I also called head office of canada to discuss it with them because some of the parts are of the FS-ZE and they said if it didnt come with the car and it doesnt have the exact same specs as the stock ones then you have no warranty.

It might be that way in Canada but it's deffinitely not that way here is the US. I have to point this out to dealerships all the time for my customers when they try to tell then that because of the stereo equipment they had put in the car's electrical warrenty is void. Most dealership people are just ignorant of the law on this and go by what their boss tells them.
