Calling all MS3 Owners with smoking Turbos...

you could always get your s*** reworked by PG. you know your getting a sick ass product and something that will be warrantied with no ******* cooperate to tell you you have an illegal fuel intake. im sure ken knows more about a fuel intake anyway then any of them. duuurrrrrr.

I'm thinking this might be the way to go. And if you use the stock mani, I don't think it's really even detectable for normal dealer maintenance bs...Although most of us do our own s*** anyway. maybe someone who's tight with their dealer could get them to do the labor (under warranty) and throw in the PG Super k04???

I just want to report that I had my oil changed by the dealer 500 miles ago, just installed a corksport Dp last weekend. So the 1st cat is gone, my second cat is a high flowing cat that was included with my vibrant dp-back exhaust. No cel, no smoking ye-f*****g-hay! it's bittersweet cause now I'll be waiting for it to smoke and for the cel to pop. I feel more power from the car but I hit fuel cut at high rpm. Good thing mazda is doin a TSB on fuel cuttin at high rpm. I'm bringing it in.

ok so first off....i want to finish off my exhaust with the corksport dp....worth it? and secondly, what are they doing now with fuel cut? even if there is a bulletin what are they going to do about it?

Just thought I'd chime in with my recent smoking experience. I have a 2007 CX-7 and installed a mid-pipe in January. About a week after, started to smoke when exhaust warmed up. Blue stinky oil smoke. Did an oil change with full synthetic for the first time a couple of weeks later (had been using the stock synthetic mix) and smoking got worse! Crap...

I figured it was time to go back to stock and see what the dealer would have to say. First thing I did was pull my Forge valve off. I had to wait for the rest due to my schedule, but to my surprise with the stock valve on, the smoking stopped. Lost major boost pressure, but at least the issue was gone. Went for three weeks without ANY smoking at all. Hmmmm...

After the three weeks were up, I decided to test re-installing the forge valve and, surprise, still no smoke! It's been two months since I put the Forge valve back on and I still have yet to see any smoking since. I'm not sure what any of this means, but the car pulls hard as hell now (just like before), no loss in psi at all. Best of all, no smoke screen!

I really don't have a good explanation for this, but very strange. I've been waiting for it to come back before reporting, but nothing so far. I am up for another oil change in the next 1,000 miles or so, so we'll see what happens with a fresh pan of synthetic. Thoughts anyone?!?!

Yes , this would only be a temporary fix for me . But anybody know the specifics of Mazda retune. Fuel cut for me also but expected.

from what i heard they're gonna reflash the ecu and/or replace your fuel pump.

puttin a cs dp get ready to have sort of warm air comin from your vent when u want 68 degree. cold air.

there is a good thread on the "other" new forum that a member posted on this. he installed a catch can and the smoke went away after ike a week or 2 !

yea i got my catch can going on this weekend. oh and btw....with the 3" tbe...i dont get any oil smoke....just maaaajor richness. it back fires like a mother ****** now. like if i get on it i can bet it will do it at least once or twice. which is good news thus far. i just need more mods to make it lean out a bit then a tune. no smoke for me yet...well real smoke... **fingers crossed**

so you dont have the dp yet, right? then i dont think it's a tbe yet. once u get the dp then it's a tbe.

touche'. close enough for me to be excited enough to call it that. lol. the dp will be arriving in the mail soon enough. the power felt just with the dp back is crazy. i cant wait to get the dp too. anyway....yea so just major unburnt fuel like a mofo for now.

Hey guys just thought I'd chime in....check out my mods in my sig. I have been running the TBE for about 10,000-12,000 miles now and I have no problems. No smoke, no nothing. TBE no cats, HKS VTA, and Mazdaspeed Intake converted to short ram, and Turbosmart Boost Controller at 18psi. The only thing I have right now is the crazy richness, some backfiring, and great power. Next step is front mount and COBB AP to get everything in sync. Hopefully I just didn't jinx myself...lol...but car is great!

When i was driving around with just a downpipe-back exhaust i thought i didnt really get a lot of power..just sound. But knowing u have a dp-back makes u feel like your car is pullin hard...but when i had my dp in and it became a tbe...oh man u'l really notice the gain...feels like you're really being pushed back on your seat. same thing with the smell, before i thought it smelled, btu after the dp got in...you dont have to be on the back of the car to get a whiff, u can be sitting on a traffic light with ur front windows down and u'll know your car is oozing with unburnt fuel.

Same here, no smoke, but mine is pulling like you described. Can't wait for my DP and manifold!

I have a bone stock 07 ms3, 17,000 miles on it, i started to notice smoke a little bit when stopped at a red light for a while, but only sometimes around 5,000 or so miles, now, any time I let the car idle for 2 minutes whether it has been drivin recently or not, it smokes like a chimney. Im taking it to the dealer Friday, but it's an US model, and I'm here in Germany, so I will see what the Germans think about the problem. It is definitely smoke, as it forms large clouds that smell like burning oil, and do not dissipate, its also about 70 degrees here, so def not normal exhaust.

so it's really a hit or miss ...this smoking issue. you could be bone stock and smoke or u could be with a tbe (like me among many others) and not smoke and my build date is june 2006, bought the car 12/06. you shouldnt have a problem warrantying it, did u ship your car from US to germany?

Fuel pump?

Please tell me this ecu reflash includes a new fuel pump.

if noone caught this earlier in the thread i have some install pics of my catch can. ugly s*** guys. get one quick! This was only a few pics of the oil building up in the intakes and throttle bodies. there was more all over the intake side of this thing. BTW....does anyone know what that hard line is that runs to the bottom of the IM?? it looks like something that runs from the dp's cat....like an egr or something. the inside of that s*** is like a chimney! but anyway....get a catch can.

oh and for those of you with a CAI you can mount your cc lower than your im which will allow gravity to feed the oil much easier into the cc. check it....theres a bolt that grounds something to the tranny. take it off and use it with your.....mounting pole??....to mount the cc there. its higher than the tranny so you know it wont bump but its lower than your pcv so your getting all the oil to your cc no sweat.
