calling all miatas -->

I took the white Miater out for a spin this weekend in 45 degree weather. It was clear, sunny, and cloudless, IOW, a beautiful day. Cranked the heat, dropped the top and cut a few curves (and that's coming from someone who hates the cold). I highly suggest everyone else knock out a winter cruise or two.

BTW, that camping pic rocks, Fadi. Awsome sky.
Thanks Kevin :)

question!

i want to know what exhaust you use and if you have pictures, post em!

haha, you don't want to see mine. $50 Meineke special and it sounds just about as bad. However, it's a race car FWIW, so it doesn't matter. (The white Miata).

The exhaust on the turbo miata ends at the firewall - all 1.5feet of pipe. It sounds kinda cool actually.

the red car has the Enthuza Budget Racer. Sounds fantastic with a turbo. But i'll be taking it off soon in lew of a straight pipe. The black car has a freaking Honduh boyz type muffler and sounds like ass.

That's the way my white one sounds with the Dynamax muffler (still have the cat). At least I can hear it through the helmet, which is the reason I have it loud-ish.

well, mine didn't sound too bad at first, because it had a resonator on it too. but I needed a converter for emmissions, and no room for both the converter and resonator.. And just too lazy to do anything about it since then :p

Pfft. I have the converter in the stock location and the resonater replaces the muffler.

Yeah, I want one eventually, it would be a really fun car. Ideally I would get a MSM, to match the MSP (I'm not getting rid of the MSP). Maybe when I pay the MSP off I'll keep it and get a MSM. For now, I could maybe get a 1990s Miata...
It would be fun to have a garage big enough to hold all the Mazdaspeeds...MSP, MSM, MS6, MS3...(not sure about the abbreviations on the last two...the question is, what would be the daily driver??)
edit: can't have only a Miata, either unfortunately, I kinda like having the four doors and trunk...

My Miata has a trunk. And I never miss my MSP.

P.S. Your sig is HUGE!! Please read this:http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110369

Miata was my daily driver for 4 years. Logged 2 cross country trips, and many, many many miles of other travels. The trunk is big enough for 2 person's luggage, a laptop, and a camera bag. Don't forget, you can also put stuff on the package shelf (that's where i put my tent and tripod on my last trip) if you know how to pack.

Just checking in

Just registered to the site and saw this thread. I have a 2004 Titanium Grey MX-5. I have kept it pretty much stock in the 8 months I have owned it, but that is changing this week. Going for some performance mods (minimal for now, but a few) and quite a few cosmetic mods coming down the pipe, starting with new wheels and tires (18 inch Zinik Z7's) that will be a nice addition to the chrome stuff already on.

you can also check out www.miata.net lot of miata specific info
and i wouldnt get 18's on a miata.
i am considering going from 16's to 15's. and if you get 18's i give you about a week before you damage them with the 205 35 tires you have to put on em

you also just missed a meet up we had last monday was about 9 miatas there. a lot of autocross guys. there is also an orlando miata club

actually putting 215/35/18 I have been to several wheel dealers and tire shops to confirm fitting with no rubbing and barring me hitting any potholes at a high rate of speed the tire should be fine. I am already running very low profile tires on the stock racing hart rims.

The reason for the larger tires is that I am going for a more "show" look than autox car. Just personal preference.

I am sorry to have missed the meet (obviously I didn't know about it). Looking forward to future meets.

ahhhhh no problem. they post the meets for that group of people in the southeast section at the other site if i hear of another one i ll let ya know
