I noticed there aren't many MX-5's on this site so this thread won't get very far I assume.
But I'd love to see what the owners have. Time to show off our "mini love
machine." Post a picture or pictures and include a mod list if you like and
any other information you wish to boast about if you like. ;]

Mine (in attatchment):
I purchased my 2001 MX-5 August of this year with only one other owner
and 42,000 miles and priced at $12,500. Big jump from my 99 Mirage, but I love every second of it.
Stands bone stock as of this moment.

-future upgrades-
Link ECU, full 10pt roll cage, better suspension, v-mounted intercooler, custom intake manifold, body mods to help out aerodynamics of car at 140mph.. the plan for the red car is to run Open Road Racing. I'm also toying with running it at land-speed events as well. I'd like to have one of the fastest 1.6l cars. I could go out and put in a 2.0, but I want to be different :p

Hmm, if Shawn doesn't chime in, I guess I can. He's got a '90 red. Purchased last Sept. w/ 108K miles on it, came w/ a matching hardtop and the softtop had been replaced in the last 6 years, it was otherwise bone stock. He has since picked up 3 more sets of stock wheels, all basically for autox and set of Falken 15"x7" rims for STS2, a RB hollow front swaybar, Koni struts, and ebay coilovers. When he got the car, the power window on the passenger side didn't work and neither did the AC. He fixed the window, but still no AC, but it's a Miata and not the DD, so that's not so terrible. Unfortunately, the car now has about 129K miles on it, and mostly autox related, and the clutch is toasted. So that's next on the list of things to be done.

2006 MX-5 Owner Here!!

Hi Gang!

I originally joined this site because I bought a Mazda5 (mini-mini-van) to haul the kids around in. At that point, I had sold off my 1990 miata - very modified - JR supercharger, bigger brake kit, blah, blah - tons of chrome, Hard Bar Rollbar, it was outta control.

I got miata withdrawal in a HUGE way a couple months after selling it off and so ended up buying a brand new one. Pics of my current miata - a 2006 Sport with the Sport Suspension option - 6 spd - lots of fun - too bad it's been raining nonstop for like a week here in NJ.

Also posted one pic of my very first miata - a 1991 Mariner Blue.

This is the second Miata I've owned. The first was a '95 Laguna Blue purchased new. (My brother owns it now)

Currently have a '99 10AE bought new @ $28,xxx. Will keep forever.

pics to come soon.

Pics of your car - soooo clean! I've shyed away from silver because I thought that they always looked the same, clean or not so clean - some people like them because of that, but if I go through all the trouble of detailing a car - it better look nicer than when it was dirty!

Your car however, in those pics, looks really shiny. Nice!

Oooh! I LOVE the 10AE!!

LOL - haven't taken it airborn....yet!

On my 1991, I hit a bump that turned into a mini jump that broke my battery loose in the back. I thought that I really broke it when I stalled out and couldn't restart it!! Took me about 15 scary minutes to figure out what had actually happened!

Well, used to own one, but decided after a few months it was just NOT the car for me...(too small, found it to be uncomfortable for my legs on longer drives, etc., blahblah)...and I was getting tired of the crap I had to take for owning one (seems as though no matter how successful they are at auto-x, etc. they still have the ungodly rep of being a....yep, you know what I'm going to say.....gulp - chick car)....Arrgghh!! But anyway, those who have 'em, enjoy!

I do really like the new ones however...got to sit in one for the first time last week while in for service...they've seem to come a long way....

Don't bring the chick discussion in here. >:|

My car is very...masculine, er something..

Hey, I'm just saying what I experienced first hand as an OWNER. I didn't call it out...at least you are a female - gotta make it easier! :D

Haha. It doesn't make it easier because I get weird looks like "WTF?!@#%"

I've seen a few mx-5's around here and they all had male drivers in their 40-50s.

LOL - not many female mx-5 drivers around here either. Nah, the females in my neighborhood that drive convertibles drive sebrings, saabs, bmw's, lexus's, never see 'em driving miatas.

Although, the fact that I currently have PINK stripes on my car probably doesn't help. (Put them on for a charity run that the local club hosted for raising $ for breast cancer research)

Pic of me and the kids.
