calling all miatas -->

again, here's my 05 Lava Orange Mica Mazdaspeed Miata. Currently only have a cone filter on just to hear the turbo and dv better, but aiming to hit stage zero from vishnu tuning and a custom turbo back with N1 muffler at the end. Yes, i am a ricer. Next year, i'm going to save up for wheels and tires and start autocrossing with a mean spirit. (hah) (deadhorse

That beating teh dead horse animation is too funny for its own good.

Well, for one thing - it doesn't have any rattles, shakes, or shimmies of unknown origin and anything of that nature! :)

The more I drive it, the more details that I find that I like about it.

It's taking me a little while to get used to the 6 spd, vs the 5 spd that I'm used to driving. First does wind out nicely without being too short of a gear. The shift points are different and in certain situations I find myself shifting alot between 2nd and 3rd. But, it is a hoot to drive. Feels really solid - the body is ALOT stiffer than my 1990 was even after adding strut tower brace, rollbar and other braces under the body. Most surprising thing is the amount of body roll in the corners. Alot more than I'm used to and I even have the upgraded suspension package. Eventually I'll probably go with lowering it a little and with stiffer springs. At first I hated the plastic sun visors, then I realized that they recess into the top of the windshield and don't get in your field of vision like the ones on my old miata. I find the interior driving position extremely comfortable. You can just jump in and drive! Somehow it is very reminiscent of my old 1991, but it's a hell of alot faster!

Screw the Miata pics-- pics of this Kristin. (hah)

I drive a "four-door Miata" (Car and Driver).
Soon to have a 2-door Miata once I knock out a mortgage and/or get a higher-paying job. :)

Driving an NC next weekend at Zoom Zoom Live... :)

Thanks for the mini-review...what's up with the body roll? :D...What did you end up paying for it?

There are lots of Miata owners here. Some (such as MiaTurbo and myself) are sick enough to own more than one.

My two Miatas are in my sig. The white one is my primary Autocross car. After I bought it, I fell into the slippery slope of Miataholism. I bought the second almost a year after the first at a price I couldn't refuse.

#1 will soon be receiving a freshly built 1.8L from a '99 Miata. I'm really looking forward to the swap.

Here's the build page of #2 (~200 RWHP for ~$2000 including the cost of the car): http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84468&highlight=miata . The turbo setup will be completly re-engineered early next year.

Here are a few shots of the two:

is there any animosity between the NB and NC crowds like there is between the FD3S and SE3P crowds?

I haven't detected any, at least from reading the Miata board.

thats good. i have the luxury of seeing an MSM and a new MX5 side by side everyday and find good things to like about both
