I'm looking for some 17" rims and new tires. Where in Calgary is the best place to go to get a decent deal. Who do I talk to?

Thanks,

Yeah I have the Tokico HP's. They are good struts. If you have the extra money I would get the Illuminas. They are awesome. I am kind of kicking myself for not getting them. I am actually beginning to wonder if there was any point at all in getting new struts man, Glen (H&R sport springs & stock struts) has been running his for a long time, I have even drove it and it feels great.

Tunerworks is probably your best bet. You can also check out Big Wheelz aka. Euroworks in the NE by the Stealerships just down the street from Joey's. He's been offering us some really good prices on the G35 forums. Go check out his site www.bigwheelz.com

Hey, Kona

I'd also highly recommend Bobby at Tunerworks. He spent a LOT of time doing research for what I was looking for.

As far as offset goes...my P5 is dropped 2" front and rear, and only barely rubs with a +42 offset in an 18"x7.5". According to everything I read, this was supposed to rub, but whatever. It's so close to NOT rubbing that I'd say even a +42 in a 7" wide wheel would probably be fine. You're not going to find anything in a +50 in an 18. You'll be lucky if you can find something decent in a +45.

Kona Bear - Got our springs installed yet? ;) BTW, if you want to run 17's your ideal width would be 7.5" with a +48mm offset. If you choose a lower offset wheel, you could slightly compensate by running thinner rubber; however this will affect your ride and speedo. Tire choice will become key.

Hey Jack,

The springs are in and working fine (thanks Maxx). Now as for the rims and rubber I was thinking a 17 x 7, 45+ offset w/215/40/17 tires. What do you think? Nay or Yay?

Kona Bear<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_1075187", true); </SCRIPT> - not all tires are created equal... check the tread width to make sure. You should be able to get away with a 215/40/17 using the +45mm offset; as your suspension is able to handle heavy loads w/o sagging.

Kona, have you got the rims yet? If so, who did you deal with?
I went to both TunerWorks and SpeedTech today to look at 17" rims and tires. BTW I dealt with Bobby at tunerworks.

Hey sgryzko,

No I haven't got the rims yet but I'm real close. I'm looking at getting ADR intense rims and so far Speedtech is winning on the price front. I'll keep u posted if you want.

Im not sure. I'm also leaning toward SpeedTech right now. They both quoted me around $2000 for 17" Holes and summer tires. But now I am wanting all season tires. Speedtech said all season is about $150 cheaper than summer tires but Tunerworks said that all season is about $40 more expensive??? I dont get it.(fight)

Get summer tires. YOu don't need all seasons on nice rims like that. You planning on running those rims in the winter too? If not, get summer tires. Extra grippy, less rolling resistance. Then slap on your stock wheels for the winter.
