Calgary: exhaust help

a noob needs your help!!

so i just got Contemporary Motorsports to install my vibrant 3" exhaust today and when im showing my bud the exhaust later in the day... i start it up and put her in 1st and started going. but i realized between 1st and 2nd i can hear and feel this grinding or creaking noise thats happening right under me. under normal driving it doesnt happen. just right after you start up the car. is this because of the exhuast? it was never there before. i will be calling them tmrw to see what they can do. im also getting a cel. will getting a cel eliminator fix the problem?(dunno)

You shouldnt get a CEL with the vibrant as it has a cat, did they extend your 02 sensor? If you reset the ecu (disconnect the -ve terminal on your battery and put your foot on the brake pedal for 15 seconds and reconnect), the CEL should go away as long as your o2 sensor was extended.

As for the sound I have no idea, did Contemporary drive your car after the install?

How does the vibrant sound, I have been looking at one for a while but have never heard it.

I will reset my ecu to see if it goes away. not sure if they extended my o2 though. Im going to call them anyways to try and figure out what this noise is about.

btw it sounds awesome. not ricy but a deep...growl lol

that noise you are talking about is sounds like what i have...like the pipe is rubbing againtst another metal when the car stops or the engine moves?

if so, please let me know what that is when you figure it out because its killing me

I bet your heat sheild is hitting the exhaust.

Simply, Bend it up or remove it.

Did you also upgrade your exhaust hangers? if your using stock hangers you will get some series rattling as the stock hangers are way too soft.
