CAI vs SRI

Looking at one or the other for my 2011 Sport manual. Does the CAI provide any more performance gain? Enough to justify the extra money over the Corksport SRI? Is the CAI more likely to throw CELs? I've never done an intake mod and want to make the best choice...

Guess I should have mentioned this is just for a daily driver car, just looking to add a little getty-up on the low end.

traditionally, if you want to keep low end, get a CAI. i haven't seen dyno comparisons for either style on the mazda2 yet, however.

How would a short ram setup detract from low-end power? I'd suspect a short ram setup would be better for throttle response but be down on overall power compared to a CAI due to the difference in intake temps. On a side note to the OP, a CAI does have a hydrolock risk. If submersed, it will be a very bad (and expensive) day.

I have a Corksport and I am very pleased with the performance improvement. A CAI might give a horsepower more but you have the danger of sucking in water if too low.

It may depend upon where you live and water issues.
