CAI rattle or resonation?

Hey everybody,

Just installed a mazdaspeed cai yesterday, and have noticed a buzzing mixed in with the intake sound. I think the splash guard may be resonating. Anybody have this problem? I don't think it will hurt anything, just annoying.

Is it possible it is hitting the frame? On mine, it was possible to position it so it would hit the frame, but some fiddling with the position in the rubber mount and rotating in the coupler avoids it.

Thanks for the advice...been out of town, and have not had a chance to look. I'll let you know.

Yeah, mine sounds great with out buzzing. I would make sure it isn't touching anything. It should be touching the rubber boot up top and the single rubber frame mount only. This will move quite a bit with the engine jumping around and all so make sure you have clearance of at least an inch.

yeah, i noticed my splash shield was starting to rub on the frame. Had to readjust it and make sure u have more than just a tiny gap between the shield and the frame because the engine/intake have a lot of movement when in use
