Ok so ive been lookin at a few cai for my m3 s 5dr. My main concern is do i need the bypass valve so i dont suck water up into the intake? In earlier post some people have listed intakes for sale either on ebay or bomzracing or something. I have noticed that these cai's dont come with the bypass valve. How much of a nessesity is this? I really dont want to damage my motor being it only has 42k on it and its an 04. I like the fact that the one at bomzracing.com is only 80$ but what do you guys suggest i do please HELP....
P.S. Thanks you all have always been such a good help i love this site and dont know what i would do with out it ! BRIAN

its not really necessary unless your car is lowered, and your driving through lakes.

it really depends on the rainfall in your area... if it pours get one, but get a quailty CAI, i think certain brands off a bpv with the intake.

in socal its not really necessary because theres little rainfall, and your an idiot if you drive your car through 5 feet of water.

LOL.....thanks.. no i deff will not be driving threw a lake or 5ft of water....i live in delaware so the rainfall here isnt that bad...Thanks for the input....

yeah i mean if you want to get just for sake of mind then by all means get it, but i just feel its not really necessary

Like NCZ13 said it is not a requirement to have the bypass kit.

I am not sure what the Bomz systems uses for couplers but the first system we put on the wife's car was from Ebay and the couplers rotted off.
