You will have to find a CAI for a 1.8 first....than you can see if it will fit. But i am anti cold air intake every since my friends car hydrolocked from sucking up some water thru his iceman intake about 3 weeks from just gettin his 97 neon Coupe Dohc, threw a rod...and now its awaiting a new 2.4 heart.. but if u get one or make one make sure u invest in one of those AEM air bypass valves, but i would just stay away from any intake that puts your filter any where near the ground..i would suggest no lower than the cylinder head..

There are some intakes for the 1.8L on Ebay. If you're feeling adventurous, you could buy one and let us no if it fits.

Isn't the diameter of the intake manifold for the 1.8L bigger than the 1.5 or vice versa.

our cars dont have much to worry about from hydro lock - we have the maf/vaf which has a flapper door which closes when water is present. i have a cai and drive in teh water all the time :)

Word!
And according to ES, hydrolock only actually occuurs if your sitting in a puddle SUCKING up H20...getting the filter a tiny little bit damp wont hurt anything.

I think he's refering to the FP-DE 1.8, not the BP-ZE...
IIRC all of the b and most of the f series engines have a form of vaf with a flapper, as well as the z engines...its why no one wants to make intakes for our cars
