Buying used 2014 CX-5 tips!

:
2014 CX-5 GS AWD
So I'm convincing my mother to buy a used CX-5. And since I work at a Mazda dealer, I can get a very good deal on one. I'm just wondering if some people can add some tips. As a service advisor I have OK knowledge on these vehicles, but I'm hoping some others can chime in on what I need to look out for. Any advice? Here's the ad: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/...wd/1112495791?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

If the ad is gone, that means she most likely bought it :)

Too expensive. You can get a comparably equipped 2016 for close to that price.

more detailed info on the options on the dealer page

so you'd get it for lower than advert?
probably pretty good then for the features and low mileage

autotrader.ca doesn't show many mazda's of that vintage for comparison
but looking at the honda's - cr-v's all pretty pricey for the number of them out there

rav-4'spretty decent prices, even the 2015's

If this is fully loaded with tech package KBB lists it at around 25K USD. The CX-5's seem to be holding their value well. I do like all the additional features of the '16s but the crash test results that show the front passenger with increased risk of injury do give me pause. Maybe something to do with front passenger airbag?

I guess one has to weigh whether NHTSA versus IIHS results are more accurate.

EDIT: 2014 NHTSA

Since the 2016 did well on the more rigorous IIHS tests, I'm not convinced by the NHTSA results.

This is the mid tier trim. GS in canada = 2.5l engine and upgraded cloth seats and the 6 speaker system, also the color screen no NAV though. I have this exact model and trim and funny enough bought it at the same dealer the posters ad was from. I bought it new for 31500+tax in march of 2013 when they released the new model refresh very early due to the weaker 2.0l engine. So seeing that it sells for 26k today is great, they hold their value very well.

She put a deposit on it Friday, and she said she'd pay cash on Monday. And over the weekend, a customer offered to pay list price and they sold it right from under us and didn't even call us. We made a full one hour drive only to be turned around. I'm in the process of making 10 yelp accounts and giving them a 1 star rating. She got her money back and we found one up in edmonton. Pretty much the exact vehicle for $1,400 less. We're going for that one. I officially hate Kramer now.

They hold their value extremely well. The Mazda dealer I work at has a couple 2015 GX AWDs, and they're going for $1,000 less than new MSRP and people are STILL buying them with 20,000km on the odo. Crazy.

seriously?
didn't the printed deposit docs state the details, VIN, etc??

Yup. I was more choked than she was. She got a proof of payment receipt saying she paid $1,000. No other paperwork. The sales manager who we dealt with kept all the papers. But, the other CX-5 in Edmonton is a go, picking it up Friday. Very excited for her.

live and learn with deposits i guess - does sound shoddy at best

to add insult to injury ... now you have to go to Edmonchuk LOL
but at least get a nice 300km return roadtrip out of the deal to put the cx-5 through some paces !
