Buying an sp20

Hey im new to the site and im currently looking @ a 03 model black sp20 with 25000kms on it it has the k&n tyfoon cai and some sort of short shifter and i was reading in a previous post about karlo's sp20 getting viper locked and wondering if this is the car as apprently the same thing happend to this car the motor has been replced in it. Could this be the same car? I did a revs check on the car and it was reported as a fixable write off so was his car written off?

And did the 03 models come with digital climate control or just the analog type ?

And what is the vin code to tell if its a hatch or a sedan cause it says its a sedan 2 on the rego papers when its a hatch?

Hey,
In NSW, hatches are treated as sedans on the registration - thats what the RTA said when i asked. Don't ask me why... I have SED on my rego papers too even tho mine's a hatch.

that could be indeed kar10w car!
he had a short shifter, a twm one....if u take the gear knob off, the threading should be blue in color.
if it is, then it HAS to be kar10ws car!!!!!!

Sadly no im not they guy wont drop his price ans it doent have a new motor in it so its time to start looking but ill have one soon

Yeah definatly am but im pritty picky it has to be black and with the climate contorl and not to many kms

well all sp20's have climate control so that's easy. black shouldnt be too hard to find as it's prob the most popular colour. if you're not sure, about 20000k's is an average per year.

I thought I might give you guys an update on what happened with Beefy, he ended up buying an 99 or 00 model N15 Pulser SSS and yes im happy to say that he is absolutley stoked them sr20's absolutley crack

and the funny thing is since he brought it guess who's bro has just brought an SP20 Hatch, thats right Tidy's bro has just rejoined the Mazda Family as his sube was a very disappointing compared to his old car (my current car).

He actually missed the power and started to get over the exhaust note not to mention it was a real petrol guzzler.

We are all very happy with it because it has awsome kays and is a different colour not to mention dad has always liked the 323's this is a 4th bj 323 and our third bj serries 2 323 our fifth mazda we are now a mazda family with 3 mazda's.

We are looking foward to picking it up, at this stage not much is planned apart from the stereo but i suspect some 17" wheels and lower springs will be on the car soon.

Im actually now trying to decide what body kit I want for my car the SP20 kit looks hot but the Mazdaspeed Protege kit is starting to appeal to me but then again I like the idea of going custom and having something unique so many choices what should I do lol.

yeah awd = heavy. most ppl dont realise just how much extra that adds to the car weight and how much extra fuel that'll use!

definately insist on the lowering first!

anyway, mazdaspeed sounds good. send a pm to kurt for some ideas. his 03.5 mazdaspeed rear wing looks fantastic!

Just an update im going to sell the sss around july of this year when i start the nex stage of my apprenticeship and buy a starry blue sp20.
