buying a car in alberta?

what are the implications if I live in bc, but buy a new car in alberta? the reason I ask this is that well, wouldn't we all stand to save like $1500+ in PST if we all bought there? Would i have to insure it under alberta plates, or COULD i? What kind of fees or restrictions might I be looking at from ICBC? Has anybody done this before, and what were there experiences?

buy it an AB and you'll get stiffed for the pst when you register it back at home. you've got to have it out-of-province for at least six months (maybe a year?) before you can get away with it.

i managed to get out of the grasp of icbc!(yippy) but i had to move to onterrible to do it(sad2)

Yeah, it's true over 6 months. I recently moved back home here to Vancouver while going to school in Cowtown. But, I did save the 1500 hun in PST. :) Gained 1000km's driving back though. :(
