From what I understand, there was help on standby days before it hit. Not saying I like him, but Bush declared a national disaster days before they were hit, and help was available. Why was the local gov't so slow to respond? Did anyone see the news footage of all the underwater busses in a parkng lot that could have been used to ship people out?

its all because blanco didnt want to give up her power. if she would have declaired martial law in NO she would be back to BR and have no say, and bush wouldhave been saving people the day after it hit..

Yeah, I heard that the governor is turning down help because she is still unorganized and still doesnt know exactly how they are going to handle it....whatever. I just thought the picture was funny.

The gov. is a stupid b****... plain and simple. This is a rare instance when I'll call a democrat a stupid b****, and actually say Bush didn't totally F* it all up. I know his approval ratings dropped, but I think he actually spoke rather well on Thurs night... one of his best speeches of his presidency. However, if you still feel the need to blame him for something, 87 billion+ dollars coulda went a long way towards this hurrican s*** *cough* iraq *cough*
