Build Date

2014 CX-5 GT w/ Tech
Hey guys!

I'm looking to get a new CX-7 and to avoid some of the first year production bugs I've been reading about I want to get the newest CX-7 I can. (One main reason I'm getting one is my current car is very unreliable.)

So is there anyway of determining when the car was built based of the VIN's? Here are a few of the ones I was looking at.

Copper Red Mica's:
JM3ER293X70150459
JM3ER293670150457
JM3ER293770145008
JM3ER293770150211

Liquid Platinum Metallic:
JM3ER293470164468

Galaxy Gray:
JM3ER293970144832

Hey guys
So is there anyway of determining when the car was built based of the VIN's?

The last part of the vin after the 7 is the numerical part of the vin number
0164468
Since this number is the highest of the ones shown, it is the most recent build. The build date is also listed on the door sticker.

Only the 70164468 is the later build date. My Icy blue is 70164052 and has be zero problems. As others have said the build date is on the door. Ed

Buy any, whichever you like.
Print all applicable TSBs. Bring it next day with your car to the dilership and ask them to perform all of them on your vehicle.
My 6-7 is built in july 2006, get to dealership stock august 2006, and I bought it in january. I did the same as described above - and so far everything fine for me.

My dealer performed all of the current TSB's as part of the dealer prepping.

It's been 5 months and 6400 miles and I haven't been back yet (first oil change is a little over 1000 miles away.)

The only thing I'm going to check on is the automatic headlights pop on when going under a bridge. Even after changing them to low sensitivity (though that reduced the problem). I'm going to see if there is a delay setting.
