so i loved my car from the start but obviously it needed more
I started my build almost two years ago when i developed a tick in my motor, i thought i had spun a rod..
so the plan was to build the motor, drop everything i can into it (while being somewhat reasonable), and paint the car..
the dismantling begins..
I spent countless hours sanding.. only got one friend to help for an extended weekend but for the most part.. the entire thing was taken apart and sanded alone.. i really know now why people spend ridiculous amounts of money on these damn paint jobs..
I havent even done a car or body work or anything related really.. i have been good with bondo-like materials and fiberglass.. and well versed in the techniques with a spray gun.. i just needed the quality materials
Primer goes on the doors and in the door jams.. the i install the doors for the pearlescent
I decided finally to go in balls deep and bought a HVLP spray gun kit, some pearl white paint ('Ice Pearl White Diamond'), and tent up my car in a plastic booth
HERE is the finalized product with gloss.. actually not 100% finished.. still needs a good color/wet sand at super-fine grit... then ill get to buffing/waxing the surface for that spit-shine glass finish
Ive got the time, ive got the patience.. got the available space for the project and of course the spare car.. its really been a labor of love!
also rebuilt my trans and painted it black to match my paint job.. the black/white tone at least
if you havent noticed theres a few pieces missing.. im doing this pearl white with super-black accents and carbon fiber hood..
whole body including kit and skirting and bumpers was done in white.. the gas tank, door handles, door window frames, mirrors, trunk, spoiler and rims are all being done in black.. still sanding on those hoes but ill have them finished in black within the week for sure!! so of course.. more pictures to come..
let me know what you think! thanks for looking
