A friend is building another V8 240sx. This time he is trying to get it all done in 24 hours. Check it out.

Im sure some of you may have seen the V8 240SX I built last year (the one with the silly scoop). I have decided to do another V8 swap, but this time to do it as a challenge in 24 hours. We will be making a video of the swap (hopefully both entertaining and instructional), which will be released in early March. And as if doing the swap wasnt tough enough, we added a few things to the challenge to make it even tougher:

- At the end of the 24 hours the car will be brought out as-is and will race other modded 240SXs (stock engine, sr20, and possibly an R34 skyline). There will be both a drag race and a short circuit or touge style race.
- In addition to the engine swap the car will be completely transformed! This includes suspension, brakes, interior, cage, and a new paintjob.
- Besides myself there will only be a crew of 3, and we will not be using a kit, templates, or any pre-made parts for the swap.

So place your bets now! It all starts this Sunday at 10am. If anyone has any questions or ideas of other interesting challenges let me know!

I just saw the same thread over on the car lounge. A V8 240sx in 24 hours. I'll need to sub this.

My cousin and I did a VQ35 240sx "350sx" now that took weeks to do.

What V8? Ellis Juan I hope...
Looks to be a carbed small block chevy, if it's like the one pictured.

Let me get this straight, doing a v8 swap without a kit, which means you'll have to fabricate all the mounting hardware as you go, a cage, suspension, and paint in 24 hours? What are the odds? i'd like to place a bet...

How much pre-assembly are you going to do?

If they do a carb'd motor, it'll be cake. Fabicating motor mounts and that jazz isn't difficult. They have alot on their plate though.

hmmm.....I have a LT1 out of a 96 Trans Am. That would be a nice swap into a 240sx.

+1.. A carb'd motor will take alot of time off of what it would take with a fi motor.. Less wiring = less time..

Awesome, this is the thread that I've been looking for.

I have a 350 small block waiting to go in my 240sx. [link in sig]

Nice. Keep us updated on how things go man. This will be an interesting 24hours when it goes down.
