Just like the title says... I have a bubble in my tire (Dunlop SP 5000)... the dealer already said no, but what about Dunlop themselves? Is this covered under warranty? I've searched already, and no luck. I hate to buy a new tire that's over $100 with only 7K miles on them!

it SHOULD be covered by dunlop depending on why it happened. did you hit a curb and rip a piece off (like me) or did it just...happen?

drumsbeloud , i talked to Dunlop Co, and they said to take it into a tire shop (Sears) to inspect the damage.

Sears will see if it was caused by a curb or pothole, then let me know if it is covered. I do recall hitting a pothole a couple months back, but I don't know... why not try for a new tire then pay?! I'll reply with the updates...

most places i know won't replace it, i doubt dunlop will either...since neither of you can really prove where the bubble came from (manufacturing or driving conditions)...depending on how nice sears is about it they might show "good faith" and since they value you as a customer might replace it...but i'm bettin that they won't, tires are usually not covered for anything...

if you have the extended warranty coverage, it actually covers tire damage as well ... if so, "run over" a nail... have fun

Ok, I just got back from Sears. This is what happened. I first talked to the lady before going to Sears on the phone at Dunlop, and she told me that if it is in fact a defect, to go to Sears to get it checked, give them a reference number that she gave me, and they can replace it for free. Well, I went into Sears and told them my situation (that I noticed a bubble and don't know how it got there). They took off the tire, looked in the inside and showed me that it was in fact broken in the inside. They said that there's no apparent damage because my rim is ok, and that the outside is good too. SOOOO, they're gonna call Dunlop tomorrow with the reference number to see what to do. I'm crossing my fingers hoping he calls me to tell me that they'll pay for the whole tire! Wish me luck!

they pulled that with me and turned me down, BUT i hope it works out better for you than me

What do you mean turned you down? They first said it was covered then said SIKE? Let me know, so that I can be prepared to fire back with more arsenal!

pretty much just like you said :-( i had less than 750 miles on the car at the time, and i was quite pissed because there were only TWO tires in all of southwest oklahoma that size in stock...one was not dunlop it was 110 bucks, and the other was goodyear, and it was 178 bucks

Well, apparently Dunlop isn't open on the weekends, so Sears can't speak to them about what to do with my tire, so I gotta wait til Monday. From the looks of it, they're gonna tell Dunlop that it's faulty, I HOPE!

Thanks bro...

Another thing... if the dealership sees that my rotors are warped, and acknowledge that they are gonna get fixed, can I demand new rotors? Or just a shaving?

Half off? You had a bubble too? I don't know... if it's a defect, I want a new tire for FREE! I'm gonna see what Sears says tomorrow...

Well, i just got back from Sears... apparently, I have 7/30sec wear on my tires, so they only took off a third of the price! I had the bubble months ago but took it in the other day! ARRRRGGGG... so I'm gonna see how to get around on the system. I want a new tire PAID IN FULL!

Just 1/3 off the price of the tire (WHICH IS LIKE $150!!! WHAT BULL)... so I'm gonna find a cheap place to buy just the tire and get it mounted myself... this sucks!

Anyone with a stock P5 tire laying around, let me know!
