BSM repair

First major repair covered by mazda. BSM alert flashing in dash after having it checked, the left side component is malfunctioning needing replacement. 4 hour job to replace and do the alignment of sensor.

Mine did this a few weeks ago, but I wiped off some metallic grit that had made it to my bumper and everything was good. I'll keep an eye on it because I hear it's an expensive part and repair bill.

Anyone else get false readings while they're out driving? I've had one on each side, randomly, on a two lane road with no one around. The mirror lit up for a few seconds and then went back out.

Never had a warning light come on, though.

Yeah, snow banks and metal/concrete dividers can give you false alarms sometimes.

yep, mine does that with metal rail guards and some metal signs... its not a perfect system... but overall its very usefull and probably saved me a couple times already from making a bad lane change.
