Broken windshield, anything I should know?

Hi guys,

I came out this morning to a broken windshield on my car. Is there anything I should know when having it replaced? It doesn't have the auto wipers.

Is all glass created equal? Should this be done at the dealer? Price isn't that important since I have a $50 deductible on glass replacement.

Thanks for the help!

Matt

Just call all of your local auto glass stores and see who has the best price.

I have never had a problem using this method.

As for glass quality, I think you will be safe with what ever you get. I actually found the stock glass to be garbage. It seems to pit and chip easier than any other car I have ever owned (which have all been small imports, down low where you catch rocks).

Sorry to hear that your windshield got smashed.

If you are turning in the claim, your insurance company will provide you with a glass replacement company. And no all glass is not created equal.

lucky i got the rain sensor and a broken windshield

250 deductible and the windshield is 290

Lucky you don't have the rain sensor. I had to get mine repaired and the guys didn't install the sensor right and you can see it doesn't sit flush with the windshield so it doesn't work. I told them to take a look at it the next time I went in but they claimed my window banner was to blame even though the problem existed before I put it on.
