Broken MSP

Well... I picked up my MSP Feb.10th in the evening, all happy driving it home and... PROBLEM.
The car stalls every time the clutch is depressed once the rev meter reaches 3500 rpm.
So I take the MSP into the dealership Feb.11th morning.
The mechanics 'think' its the T.P.S.
--Changes it--> no effect.
The distrcit manager takes a look at it and 'thinks' its the engine
--Changes the ENTIRE ENGINE--> no effect.
The district manager then 'thinks' its the PCM
--Changes it--> no effect.
Mazda Canada has no clue!
There had to be ONE lemon mixed in with all those oranges.
They are now contacting Calloway.
Still no car Feb.24th.

sounds like the same problem that alot of people are having, look for a thread started my 1st MP3 in NH? I think thats his name, and you will see alot of people have this prob. They cant figure it out either. I think that it is titled test for begi owners. I could be wrong though

u know that there is a lemon law for each state. in CA if they can't fix your car after 3 times and it's still undriveable then BY LAW they have to give you a full refund or give you a brand new car. so if you can, GET A NEW CAR. check the law for your state though. if it's something like california then demand a new car. goodluck

damn..stall very time it reaches 3500rpm, that sucks.... Looks like a lot of you guys got this kind of problem. Guess I'm pretty lucky that I still don't have that problem yet so far.

They may be overlooking the bypass valve(BOV). Tell them to check that. THe reason I suspect this is because most of the dealership mechanics haven't worked on a turbo car in a while because the MSP is the first turbo car Mazda has introduced within the past 5 to 6 years. Lots of the mechs at the dealer may be pretty new.

xsivspd..
that really sucks..
I hope you're getting a loaner from Mazda for the time you don't have your MSP. i remember seeing on the ad, that if you car ever goes in for any type of repair, that they should give you a loaner at no charge.

Anyway, good luck with your car. Maybe they should just give you another Mazdaspeed since your car is pretty much brand new.

They replaced the entire motor??:wtf:

That's pretty screwy and tells me the dealer is lost...

EXCUSE ME! But don't you have a 4 year warranty with a GUARANTEED loaner car on WARRANTY work? :eek:

I'd suggest to the dealership that you'd like a nice new Mazda 6 to drive around while they scratch their heads! :D

I'm sure they won't give you a mazda 6. They'll only give you those used mazda with huge dealer's decal on the back, at least for my dealer. I still remember how horrible it is for me to drive that 105hp used regular proteg when my msp's radiator hose broke and the car stayed there for the whole weekend.

my car does it once in a while also, but only when going uphill ummm i'll wait til the new msp 2003.5 is out... then maybe i'll go to dealer and see wut's up and maybe get hook up with the 2003.5 if they cant fix it within 3 times =D

Update...I called Mazda Canada yesterday and explained the problem. I told them I do not feel comfortable taking this car back after all the work that has been done so far.
Their answer was "Mazda Canada does not have a policy to buy back vehicles AND Mazda Canada will at all attempts try to rectify the issue due to the car being under warranty."
Oh yes, the ENTIRE engine was replaced. I saw it with my own eyes. :eek:
My issue is 'logged' into their computer, and you bet they will be hearing from me many more times in the future. If I ever get back my MSP working.
The dealership is Westowne Mazda in Toronto.

I tell ae, everyday there's another reason NOT to get another Mazda , specially a speed.

Scary s***

I'm more and more convinced that MAzda of Canada is only just a marketting company, and that's it.

of course they won't have a policy of their own to buyback vehicles. lmao..
once it goes to arbitration, having met all the lemon law requirements in your area, then mazda canada would have no choice but give you the choice of them buying it back or a new vehicle. law's the law, right?
