Hello every one im having this problem my Cruise Control is broken and has been since ive bought the car. I know people say check the vacuum lines those are ok. Is there a fuse for the Cruise Control? If so where is it located ?

Get the manual for your car from this forum. There is a long involved test procedure for diagnosing the cruise control. It is time consuming and you need to be comfortable working with a volt meter (VOM). There are a number of items within the system that need to work together. That said, do you have the switch in back of the buttons turned on? The fuse is located in the panel on the drivers side footwell and is called the METER fuse, 10 amp.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot Larson ive already downloaded the Manual for my P5 and im going to use it for now on. I have a Volt Meter to as well my Brother is good with cars so ill have him help me out with trouble shooting on the Cruise Control just in case anything does come up. I didn't know that there is a switch behind the Cruise control? If that switch is behind the Cruise Control Why would it be turned off? I shouldn't have to touch it.

It completely disables or enables the cruise control. Push it in and it should click...then try your cruise again.

When I push the 'Main' button, immediately behind the buttons, actually part of the button assembly, I hear a faint click from the passenger footwell. The cruise control's computer is located behind the kick panel in the passenger footwell and the click is a relay being activated in the control module.

Let us know how it goes!

My kid had to have the alternator replaced at school and the cruise control stopped working. She did not find out until she was on her way home one weekend. When she got home, I poked around, obviously checking the "main" button first. Turned it on and off several times and no luck.

Checked under the hood and on the passenger side just behind the shock/strut bolt was a wiring harness. Harness was unplugged. Plugged the harness in and cruise control was working again. Hopefully you'll get lucky too and find an inepensive fix. Good luck

Thanks 2002 MP5. My 2003 Pro5 cruise control has been out since I had the timing belt/water pump replaced several months ago by the dealer. I'd checked the fuses though I could hear the relay switch on under the dash when I turned on the main cc power, however the cc system would never engage. After reading your post I figured I'd take a look. Sure enough, just as you described the cruise control wiring harness was laying there unplugged behind the passenger side strut tower.
Thanks again
