Broke something shifting to third

Not sure if im posting in the correct place... but heres what happend.

I was sitting at mcdonalds trying to eat my food and my car gets shot up by a semi auto bb gun last night on holloween. The people turned around to come back to shoot me again so i left and was being chashed. At this point i didnt need any more holes in my car so i was driving it hard. From 2nd to 3rd shift at 7k rpm i believe something strange happens and i know i messed something up. I try to get it out of gear which was very hard, try other gears, still hard to get in and out. It seems that its stuck in 1 gear.. Possibly 3rd but for some reason feels like 4th.. I had to drive home in 3rd? gear even from a stop. My clutch was burning like crazy from a start too. Now that i got it back to my house it appears that the car is in gear even with the shifter in neutral and the shifter has no affect on anything really. Its just stuck in either 4th or 3rd. Reverse doesnt work etc. Im going to try to look and see if anything is broken or bent anywhere tomorrow. If someone knows anything about this let me know because i have no clue and dont have any money at the moment to bring it to a shop.

Oh and if anyone was wondering what happened to the kids who shot my car. One of them is going to jail for 7-10 years for violating his probation or something because he shot me and my car and the other has 3 cases on him for the same thing within the same week. I got license plates names everything.

I'll bet the problem is your shifter fork. These have proved to be quite week.

It sounds like when i broke my shift fork. I was stuck in third, but could put it in neutral to roll it out of my driveway.

If it was the clutch i think he'd have more of a dead pedal feel, without being there and seeing exactly whats going on i still say shift forks

3rd gear shift fork, same exact thing happened to me about a month ago. I couldn't put it in 1st,2nd or 5th. IT was stuck in 3rd gear, even when in nuetral it would go as it was in 3rd. I also roasted my clutch on the drive home, I caught every red light.(pissed)

Heh, notoriously weak shift forks, when i got mine back from the dealer, i apparently, broke the 1-2 fork, and the 3-4 fork, don't ask me how that happened. THEN i had them replace my clutch with an aftermarket one while they had the tranny apart. But they didn't re-surface my flywheel and i ended up losing that clutch less than 1000 miles later, this is before i was boosted too, WTF

Get a new shift fork and replace the old one.

How much in labor is that gonna cost me ?

Depends, the dealer will **** you. If mine hadn't been under warranty it was close to 700 in labor. Try and find a reputable shop around that will do transmission work.

i did the same thing in my car, bent that damn shift fork! there is a revised one that they should put in, make sure you ask before they do the work!!

its a TSB on third gear, you might be able to fanagle them to fix it for free, always good to try!!
