Broke into the 13's

Well folks. I broke into the 13s today in my MS6. Here are my slips. The temp was around 65-70 degrees. I had a half a tank of gas. 2 gallons was race fuel. 101 Unleaded and the rest BP 93. I started launching the car at 3000 rpm in the beginning. The last 2 runs I launch at 4500 rpm.

I'm car #100 :P
My best 2 runs of the day!!

Here are my other runs.
My slower runs

Great job!

First people hate on the MS6 before any car mag tests come out. All the while MS6 owners are saying that the car is a great car with tons of potential. Then the car mag tests come out and people pick the results where there is an obvious issue (and its even mentioned in the article about how sluggish this particular car felt) to say its not that fast. Now an MS6 owner runs into the 13s bone stock (like most MS6 owners said it was capable of) and people are calling it a fluke because he didn't get more runs in or didn't produce another run in the 13s? I think this car is barely over break-in mileage and this was the first time at the track with the speed 6 and people want to talk about racing sanctioning bodies and rules for records? (boom07) Man, some folks are so damn petty....I don't get it. This was one of us at the track - not a national competition with records and prize money nor was it a NHRA event...why the freaking hate?

Nice run ATL....you can most definately drive - as evidenced by your times w/ the 6s. I can't wait for the results of your next time at the track, and future times with a couple of mods on the car. (thumb)

Thanks everyone for your positive comments. I will def get the next runs on video and post my results. The car will be lowered on some S-Tein springs soon. I haven't made up my mind on the wheels and tires.

Congrads i'm still trying to get out of the 14's myself. You still have the rims from the other 6? Those looked nice.

Sorry. I traded them in with the car. The wheels were not in the best shape. All four had dents in them from my trip to Texas. Damn metal plates in the road!

Yeah the other car seen em too :( still like weather and traffic better. Are you still running with the baffle on?

Would tell you to pull the headlight but then that would fuel more 13 second contraversy. Hope you get more 13 second slips for us to celebrate man. I'm headed out for another attempt at 14.6 this upcomming sunday.

Thanks. :) Good luck on your run.

In the 13s again!

Hope ATL doesn't mind too much, but I can't resist a scoop for those who don't read the other MS6 forum. Congrats are in order since he ran either 13.9 or 13.99 (thumb) (per his competition, a fellow MS6'r) at an Atlanta strip that apparently wasn't as grippy as the one where he pulled a 13.7.

In other interesting news, his competition (best run was 14.0) accidentally shifted back into 1st from 2nd sending the revs into the stratosphere, causing demonic screams to issue from out of the tranny, and shutting down the engine momentarily until the RPMs came down to 2K. The car was fine! Ran a few more runs without incident. (drinks)

Definitely one tough beast.

Thanks seanw, you beat me to it. :) Matt, the owner of the other speed6 was tough competition. All of the races were close except that one with the 2 to 1 gear mishap.

NIce pull...maybe start taking off some added weight to go faster. Im impress..keep it up!

Thanks. I would like to start with the super heavy ass hood Mazda has put on this car. Feels like 100lbs.
